And this guys is a 15 handicap, after a successful rap career. Made enough money to put a large University football team in hot water...allegedly.

My standards are lowered with female rappers.  I have no shame with that.

Had nothing to do with Trina being a woman, lest we add our daily dose of sexism to the casual racism of the 19th hole. But...TRINA! That's fantastic.

Also, Domes, I think you can drop the "semi" from your comment.

You're right.  Fixed.

Also, second the Paul's Boutique love.  Had all the songs memorized at one point.

To me it is very hard to find good female rappers.

I liked Roxanne's Revenge too.

Big fan. I agree with most in here that rap has fallen off precipitously.

Tupac, BIG, Jay-Z, and Nas are my favorite artists in some order.

I still listen to mid-2000s Lil Wayne a lot (he had a pretty serious run, but his new stuff is eh).

Jim Clark leading the charge for anti-rap folks :superman: . Ease up guy.

I still think Wayne from 2006-2009 maybe one the greatest run in hip hop. No one did or has done anything like. When he released Best Rapper Alive he truely was. Now Carter IV was okay, everything since then has been hit or miss. Carter V, if ever released, could be legendary

Im the OP, I did the leave the forum open to non-listeners of rap to voice their opinion. But simply stating that Rap is not music and giving no reason, is like opening a business with no knowledge of what your selling.

If you wanna state your reasoning why you don't like rap, then you may, and we all will probably disprove your reasoning.

And to those you say Rap isn't music you are flawed. It is the next evolution of rock n roll. Which was evolution of Blues/Soul, which was taken from gospel, which was devolved from slave songs. It is just pure evolution of music. Rap takes elements from all genres of music and makes it one. If you listen and break down the words being said you understand a deeper meaning to what is being said.

Can we just stop fighting and actually talk about rap? If you don't like it, you are welcome to say you don't like it and move on...

Cmon guys some people like it, we just want to discuss it in peace

That's for both sides... If someone is obviously trolling just let it go.

Does anyone else love Run the Jewels?  I mentioned earlier I think it's pretty good, but people are going crazy for it.  Interested in other opinions.  I feel like I'm missing something.

LOL but Don't Trip and Ain't S4!t have such good messages too!  I understand the ribbing for mentioning her but that nagging voice of hers (and Iggy's) just does something for me.

In all seriousness I really wish there were more female rappers and ones that have a good message.  I think Missy E is great in that regard but I just never went for her voice.

I'd say, by you inferrring that all rappers are black kind of makes YOU racist.

I'd say whomever inferred that all rappers were black is the racist person. I was just stating that I don't think about golf when I hear rap music. I pretty much think of classical. When I miss a 4 ft putt for birdie I think about death metal on the next tee. Never rap. That's all I was saying.

Sooooooooo you're saying you can't explain that in a non-racist way?
You keep using the word racist but I don't think you know what it means.....

Would it make you more comfortable if it came from Childish Gambino?

I listen to rap music when I hit balls or play golf. I like classical music and jazz to but I wouldn't listen to it when I play golf or workout. It would put me to sleep. Rap gives me motivation to make a bad shot into a better one. Its more just I like to listen to music I like on the golf courses. Look on Golf Channel they will play more samples beats in the background from rap/pop songs than country music. Yesterday they had some drake playing on Golf Central

I agree.  Smooth rap beats are great for golf.  Plus the attitude is good.  It helps to have a confident attitude and you get that in spades with rap.

That said, Flight of the Valkyries would make a good song for driving the ball.

I'd say, by you inferrring that all rappers are black kind of makes YOU racist.

I gotta side with the guy everybody is hating on. Rap and golf don't mix. Sorry.

This is my favorite racist post in this thread so far.
Is that you al sharpton? What does his comment have to do with race?

I'm actually curious whether or not RobGolf can explain it in a non-racist way.
I'd say whomever inferred that all rappers were black is the racist person. I was just stating that I don't think about golf when I hear rap music. I pretty much think of classical. When I miss a 4 ft putt for birdie I think about death metal on the next tee. Never rap. That's all I was saying.

Then.....why did you comment on this topic again?  You literally never think about rap when you're playing golf.
