Who do guys listen to?

I began listening to rap music in 2009 and have been huge fan since. I listen to everyone though if I had to pick it would be Childish, B.o.B., Young Money, Odd Future, or J Cole. My favorite rapper is Childish Gambino or B.o.B. My favorite album of all time is Carter 3

I listened to some rap in high school back in the mid-late 90s. Mostly Bone Thugs, all of the No Limit guys, Snoop, Dre, UGK. As for newer stuff, not a fan of most of it. Occasionally I hear one I like when flipping through the stations on Sirius, but never care enough to pay attention to who it is. I do also like Eminem and Jay Z, but they didn't come around till later. My radio is usually blasting some kind of metal or hard rock, but it occasionally finds its way onto rap.

I like that new song featured in the Android handshake commercial. Guess because it sounds more old school... But, I generally do not listen to rap or hip hop.

I played basketball pretty much my entire youth....so i listened to a ton of rap and i would still say it's my favorite type of music

But i listen to mostly what would be considered "old school" now. I probably know the words to every Wu-Tang or Wu-affiliates songs prior to say 2002. I listened to a lot of NAS, Biggie and Tupac, Mobb Deep....I loved the Wu though. I could listen to Ghostface all day

Modern stuff doesn't really interest me. Rap became "mainstream" and softened quite a bit. I listen to one-off songs here and there....Kendrick Lamar has some good stuff

I'm going to listen to JT Money's Who Dat now....since we're talking about old rap......remember that one! classic

Funny how I claim I don't listen to hip hop and yet I recognize most of the songs I am searching, even the one you listed.... Now I am on A Tribe Called Quest... Old school for me would be mid late 80's through say 95...

Been listening to rap since around 2000 or so. The new stuff sucks IMHO. I like anything from like 1995-2005. Bone- Thugs, Nas, the old school 3-6, Fabulous, I could go on and on. I really like alot of early 2000s stuff. My favorite artist is probably the group Bone Thugs N Harmony. I got to meet Bizzy Bone in Columbus Ohio. Weird weird dude. My favorite album is probably their greatest hits cd or Young Bucks straight outta cashville. I was obsessed with that cd and it was in my cars cd player for a good year. Also I know Kanye West is a d-bag but his first cd college dropout is really really good. His other cds after that are ok but his first album was sweet.

College Dropout and Graduation are probably are probably two the best albums of 2000s, but I agree he has kinda lost his edge.

I listened to all forms of music my whole life but dabbled in some rap in my youth, mid 80's-early 90's.  I cannot stand any of the new stuff except one, Kid Cudi.  Probably the first rap tape I bought was this, http://www.discogs.c.../release/659518

Beastie Boys were/are my undisputed favorite.

I go as far back as Cookie Puss with them.  LMAO song.

They never seemed to put out a bad song or album.  That said, I wouldn't dare listen to Sabotage before a round!

I listen to hip hop from 1979 (sugarhill gang)-1998 (biggie, big L, wu tang) and 2010-present. Right now i really like meek mill, logic, kendrick lamar, joey bada$$, j cole, schoolboy q, and just about anybody. The only rapper i dont like is.... Im going to get loads of hate for this.... But my least favorite rapper is eminem. Just never liked him. Just think all his music is corny imo.

Don't you guys mean "crap"?

Any time some crapper comes on the radio or TV, I have to change the channel.

It's NOT music. It's just crap.

Rap isn't my thing. That said, I can appreciate when someone does it well like Eminem or JayZ.

That said, I am absolutely mystified by the popularity of Iggy Izalea. To me, she doesn't sound good at rapping at all. I mean AT ALL. I honestly think I could record myself and it'd sound better and I'm as white as a white boy can be.

I've kind of always liked rap music. I've always liked Jay Z, T.I. Snoop Dogg and Nelly. Those were the rappers that were pretty big when I started really listening to music and not just whatever my mom or dad had on the radio lol.

Other rappers that I have a lot of on my iPod are: Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Kanye, Kid Cudi, and B.o.B.

Recently I've been getting into Kendrick Lamar though, he is putting out a lot of really good stuff.
