So kuro is onoff's GI irons and new one will release this year? And that gold onoff is different and more of players iron than kuro?

No..... They are the 2017 version of the Kuro Iron.  They look great but for my money the 2015 version can be had at 3-400 dollars cheaper.

Again...NO....  Every two years OnOff comes out with a new "Players" Cavity Iron.  This thread was born when the Kuro came out in 2015.   The 2017 Kuro just came out and that's what the difference is.....

This would be the Game Improvement Iron.... But honestly if you can break 90 the Kuro works.

Can anyone compare the heel to toe length of the 2015 Kuro to the Srixon 545 or Callaway CF16?

I had a set of Z765 and the 2015 Kuro is about the same so I would say the Z545 would be chunkier and the CF 16 a little longer as well as the lofts on those two are stronger .

The 2015 Kuro for me is softer and incredibly easy to hit and workable.

The 545/565 and the CF16 both employ a forged frame with a separate welded in place spring steel face piece for added distance.  The Kuro is a one piece forged head, no spring steel face, so the distance will be shorter.  Size wise, I think the Srixon and Callaway are a smig larger, and with the CG set deeper into the head than the Kuro so they will launch high, thus offsetting the stronger lofts a little.  Honestly, these irons are in a different class.  The Kuro's will feel like a traditional forged iron with butter softness on center impacts and a good deal of "feedback" when you miss.  The spring steel clubs will feel more numb, and the sound will be more of a tink when you miss the center of the face.  Apples to oranges.

My 2015 kuro and so money, I hit them a mile and they feel buttery . The long irons are my favorite to hit. Just point and shoot. Tried others irons on my demo day and nothing out shined those. On a side note I like it when I'm the only one in a what seems to be a 500 mile radius that has these irons

I feel the same way but I sold my back up set ( new in box ) to a buddy so I have 1 local guy playing the Kuros.   I bought another new set that's in my basement for when I want to look at a new set but that won't be anytime soon.

My ongoing search for a 4-iron led me to Kuro finally. The look is VERY impressive and I love it. Gold finish looks better than in pictures. But sole and top-line is much thicker than what I expected. compared with TF616 (what I considered thick before receiving Kuro) and Yururi MB, Kuro is too big for my taste. Hit a few balls off mat and feeling was good but not great.

Wish they offered modus 120. I will probably change the shaft and see if I get a better numbers but what a letdown.

and gold finish gets scratched VERY easily. Will probably ruin the look after 3 rounds.

Also i am a 16 HCP and was fitted for Z565/765 Combo recently with project x LZ .... would i be able to game these ?

If anyone knows where these can be found in left handed i would appreciate the links....

Thanks

Has anyone purchased the 2017 Kuro Irons?   I have a friend contemplating making a purchase but I'm concerned that if he's basing the decision on
hitting my 2015 Kuro set he may not be getting what he expects.  The lofts are weaker and the top line looks think compared to the 2015 version.  The
finish is also reported to wear easily.

Anyone? Anyone?   Bueller ?  Bueller?  :)

I think someone on JDM Clubhouse gave a review of them. Personally, I don't think they look nearly as nice. Champagne finish... no thanks.

Just tell him to buy it. If he doesn't like it I'll take it off his hands for $500.

Ok I'll bite....  Since you are positioning yourself as someone who knows pricing on the 2017 OnOff Kuro Irons.  How much would a set 5-PW cost ?

Where would you direct someone to buy?   BTW I was joking about the $ 500 for two clubs.

TSG is $ 972.00 for 5-PW plus freight from Japan that I would estimate at 40-50 bucks.   Not bad actually for OnOff - Endo forged Irons.

Wasn't sure if you were joking. Some people think their clubs are some kind of an investment :)

As far as good prices, check golfranger or greenfil on rakuten.

Pretty sure TSG double- or triple charges for shipping too. I was looking at yururi wedges they were clearing out last year and 3 heads were almost $100 in shipping!

TSG in my experience has been fair and they have matched prices from TSTAR - Rakuten.  TSG does require emailing back and forth to negotiate the pricing but it's way easier than dealing with dealers on Rakuten on a custom order.  I have purchased two sets of Irons , heads and shafts from Chris & Jacque at TSG and I'm happy.

How custom do you want those Kuros? I have not bought irons from rakuten, yet. But from what I saw it's pretty straightforward. Pick a shaft, length, lie, loft adjustments, specify desired swing weight in comments and you're done.

It's just that easy.  No hassle or haggling at all.  Much prefer Rakuten to TSG personally.

When trying to deal with TSTAR  the language barrier and emails back and forth with a day delay for each scared me so I contacted TSG and they match the price.  I did later try to buy another set from TSTAR and they invoiced me through PayPal and took my money and a few days later sent an email stating the clubs are sold out.  They took 5 days to refund my money.   That all said I have purchased shafts from other Rakuten dealers with no issues.
