Usually when new mizuno irons come out a few days before there are tons of reviews floating around the web.

Seems opposite for the MP15s. Has anyone hit them? Any reviews ?

They are all over the fitting carts and I believe some stores have demo sets already....

What would they compare to? 59s? 53s? 54?

They are 59 replacements. For me I didn't like them, I played 59's for two years, felt a little clicky but not terrible I enjoyed the 59's. The 15's felt dare I say harder and clicker and i didn't see the added "40%" increase in forgiveness. I did have different shafts in but still. I think the 59's are better than the 15's and the mp-4s better than the lot.

I hit them and was very disapointed.  I was expecting something great and left with the feeling that I missed something.  I believe they are the greatest thing since sliced bread to some folks but not me.  The feel was not there and the sound was hard (I know I have it backwards but some of you will know what I mean).  It felt like I was hitting the hardest golf balls ever made.  Please do not let me discourage people from trying the 15's.  I play the 69's and few clubs feel and sound like them.  I was in the market for a combo set with the 15's in 4,5,6.  I'm fine with what I have.

Didn't love them. However the 850 forged was pretty sweet. I would say the 4's, 64's, and 850 forged are the stars of the mizzy line.

Agreed.  They are nice but I didn't feel that the 15s were any better than the MP 59s, which were/are great clubs and tough to beat.  I think if the 59s weren't such a good offering, than the 15s would seem that much better.

I am opposite....like the 15 better than 59, feel better, sole while smidge bigger looks to have better grind....There is more meat on em and slightly bigger cavity....they are for sure more forgiving....I agree with mizuno statement of 20%....idk where somebody read they are 40%, think that is impossible to increase an irons forgiveness by that much.....I think once sets hit stores and people start hitting em I think they will do well.....

850 forged was not that impressive.....I owned and gamed 800/825 pro irons....The 850 is exactly same head but feel is not same...very clicky and springy....The badging is only thing improved.....

Have MP4s on order and hit the 15s this past weekend just to see what they were about. I would say crisp not clicky. Easily feel that titanium damper, or whatever it is, soak up the vibrations. As a northeast player who will be playing mp4s I may pick these up to play in early spring when your just not quite up to speed to be playing an mb.

I've hit the MP4 and MP15 in a practice session.  Of course the 4 feels superior.  As buttery as I've ever felt.  Personally, though, I'd opt for the 15 if I were buying as it adds some forgiveness and still feels great.

Hit all the new heads out of our fitting cart with a variety of different shafts.  Initial opinion is meh, my 67's feel better.  I even think the 714 AP1's feel better.  Not sure if it was just the adapter or anything like that, but they did nothing for me.

Not a huge fan of the MP-15. I'm sure there are some people out there that will like them but not me. Hitting them against the MP-4's and I find the 4's to be more consistent in ball flight, flight control, and in total distance. From some of the features I know there will be people who love them, but I was a fan of the MP-69's more than the 59's so this is the replacement for a club I wasn't a huge fan of to begin with.

Pretty easy to understand, we all 'feel' things differently.  You tried yours out with C-tapers, I personally don't think they are good feeling shafts at all and tried a range of shafts from X100s, PX 6.5's, CTL S, CT X, KBS X.  When compared to the 67's I have in the bag currently, they all felt terribly hard.

Tried them all as well, a few times, and feel-wise thought they were nice. To me they're the forged mizuno heads we all expect...soft but not so soft that the ball feels like it sits on the face too long.  The 850 forged was the only model I didn't really care for. Looks nice but I felt like I had control issues. Probably just in my head thinking that they're geared towards distance. I liked the 15s, but for me personally they don't fit my needs. I've been gaming a combo set of 4s and H4s with c-tapers. Sometimes I go with a full set of H4s if my swing is slightly off and sometimes I add more 4s if I'm swinging well. They just work for me and the H4 size is not a factor. I ordered a full set of the H5s to work into my set. They're smaller, look fantastic and to me have that same great feel. I believe it all depends on what you're coming from...another guy there plays 64s so he was leaning towards the 15s.  I was told my set was in production yesterday so they should be here soon. We'll be getting feedback on the full sets shortly, which is nice, but definitely go spend some time with the demo cart.

Well if it was a dealer that told your friend I wouldn't doubt it's validity.

Crossfield review of the H5s up now. He has a set in his bag so obviously likes them. His description, to me, is spot on. This model offers the best of both worlds. The look, feel and control of a "players" iron with some added forgiveness built in.  But I'm biased having been hitting H4s for a while now. Great as a whole set or mixed in with any of their other MP lines.   Mizuno is obviously building and distributing full sets to their staff players, but they need to hurry it up to the masses.  Crossfield has had a set in his bag for a few weeks now.  Looks like the guy named Rory is gaming 850 Forged in the latest videos...they mention his new sticks being one club longer.

Not really fair to compare them to the MP4s. Apples to oranges there, like saying AP2's don't feel as good as the MBs. Multi-material club will never feel as good as a solid forging. I'm going to game the 4s in about a week and am seriously thinking about picking up a set of the 15s over the winter to use next spring when I will definitely appreciate something to give me same characteristics of the 4s but soak up a ton of vibration from mishits which is where the 15 falls in the lineup.

Bit of background first currently playing off 10, couple of years ago I was down to 9 and my best was a 7. I've got a very quick transition and fast tempo, but a slow swingspeed as I don't use my lower half very well and come down to hard from the top of the backswing. I hit it high with a lot of spin Around a 95-99 driver swing speed but normally get fit in 70g x flex shafts as they deal with my transition and spin rates. I'm an unusual fit, what can I say, I know it sounds odd but it does tend to be right.
For the last couple of seasons I've played Ping I25's with CFS X Flex, the reasoning being I've played less golf and wanted some forgiveness. While I liked both sets, I recently played some true Links golf and they didn't help at all. They hit the ball very high, and while better golfers than me can really control their ball flight, I've found I have more success hitting full swings with more club rather than hooking shots left which is the tendency when I try and hit punch shots. I also found the offset a bit much in the long to mid irons at time, although this was always a visual, rather than a performance issue. The bigger issue were the soles were very wide on the short irons, I found myself, admittedly on my less than perfect swings having wedges and 9 irons"bounce" off the turf, causing a horrible pull hook.
Before these Ping's I've always played a players iron having flirted with Mizuno MP58's in the past, and playing my best golf with Callaway X prototype blades and some tour issue X forged 07 quad dots.

So I played my first round with My MP15's yesterday. The spec is 4-PW with C Taper Stiff shafts standard lie, and new decade grips, half inch long, standard lie, with a H5 3 iron built to the same specs. I ordered with these specs, and am then going to go in to my clubmaker in a couple of weeks to tweak lofts, lie's, lengths, and potentially shafts as necessary, but have always really enjoyed c tapers so it seemed the right starting point.

First of all they look great behind the ball. I prefer other finishes, but there is something special about Mizuno chrome behind the ball. It looks absolutely classic. It always looks better than other brands I've found as well. The head shape is classic Mizuno, with very soft lines. A touch of offset, in an ideal world I'd have less in the shorter irons, but we're talking tiny margins. The sole is Narrow, not blade narrow, but thinner than most clubs on the market, but it is also marginally wider in the heel and toe, which I'm sure aids the weighting well. I've always liked the soft rolled heel Mizuno's tend to have, over the sharp heel a Nike forged iron tends to have, as I find it more forgiving on side hill lies. The H5 looks good too. I find it odd that it's satin though, as it doesn't blend as well visually as previous Fli-Hi's have. Nice lack of offset though, and you can't see too much of the back of the club at address.

So hit a few warm up shots on the range with the 8 iron that felt fantastic, and flew true, before heading out to the course for a true test. So feel. They feel Mizuno soft, no clickiness that others have mentioned. Are they quite as solid as a set of blades? No they aren't, but they haven't got as much bass behind the sweetspot, so they wouldn't be, but it really is a minimal difference.  But I don't feel the ti insert is detrimental to feel in anyway. I believe Mizuno's have the softest feeling forgings. Miura's have always been a little clippy/crisp to me, Vega's are good, Endo Callaway's have always been my favourites as they have a good mix of soft but solid. Pretty much a as good a feeling forged cavity as you will find.

Forgiveness. Definitely more forgiving than MP64's. I can tell you that straight away. But these aren't overly forgiving. They aren't meant to be. But in the class of clubs they are in they are definitely on the more forgiving end. I wanted a club that offered help heel and toe rather than that helped get the ball up and these fit the bill. They aren't helping on really poor swings, but they will help on slight miss hits. From a personal point of view i think I prefer looking at a compact head and hit them better as I concentrate a bit more. As I mentioned earlier played a couple of side hill lies, and found these better than other irons I've hit when the ball was above the feet.

Flight. For me a mid flight. Maybe a touch high in the shorter irons. Quite a neutral flight, maybe a touch easier to draw than the I25's, which is probably because they are less forgiving heads, without as much heel and toe weighting. Need more time with the longer irons, but were getting airborne pretty easily.

Accuracy. The short irons excelled. If I put a good swing on them they seemed deadly accurate. I think this is as much that my swing gels with the c tapers. They just feel right throughout the swing. Launch monitor numbers only offers so much, and they don't always quantify the repeatability of how you deliver the club at impact. When I was fit by Ping head office for the i25's I was blinded by numbers. The I25's were obviously better on the launch monitor than the s55's I was hitting the same day, but I knew I was striking the s55's better. I'll try not to let myself make the same mistake again.

Distance. It's a forged Iron. It doesn't fly miles. It's not designed too. Even though my own game could do with some more yardage out of my irons, I would rather hit the ball solidly and on line more consistantly. So I'll accept the trade off from playing a set of ti face irons for example.

Verdict. These are really good Mizuno forgings. If you've hit 62's, 63's, 64's, 58's or 59's, you will have a good idea of how these play. A touch more forgivness, a mid flight, and a classic looking head. It's the compromise club for those wanting a set of blades but knows they need a touch more help. I think these will go in a lot of bags over the next 2 years. So far, so good.

And the H5 I've not hit enough shots with to get a good verdict yet. Think it might need a different shaft rather than the c taper. Have been using an Exotics CB Pro H recently and that has felt more forgiving,

Mine are supposed to get here today.  I hit them beside the 850 forged and 54s pretty extensively. I currently have 64s in the bag.

I think they combine the look of the 64s with the added forgiveness, albeit small, of the 54s / 59s.

As for feel, at least to me and my hands, they are similar to the 64.

Top ball speed was highest with the 64s (makes sense),  but average ball speed was higher with the 15s when you consider some of the misses. Mp15 average ballspeed was even better for me than with the 850 forged, believe it or not. The launch characteristics were similar to the 64s, at least for me and my swing that day.

So I got the look I'm used to with better average performance (more forgiveness).

I made a very big mistake.  I picked a demo MP-15 off the rack and hit it.  That was my first mistake.  The second mistake was getting on this site and reviewing the club.  Yesterday I had a major fitting.  The guy put a club in my hand with the correct shaft for me and I hit it great.  The feel was very good and it had a lot of control.  I looked down at the club and it was an MP-15.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  I am sorry for giving my thoughts about this club before knowing the facts.  I was wrong and learned my lesson.  I understand how easy it is for people to get on this site and give a negative review without properly being fit but I didn't think I was one of them.

I hit the MP4, MP15, JPX 850 Forged, and MP H5. I thought the MP15's were the best blend of forgiveness and playability in one. I'm not sure of what this clicky feel is that I'm reading on here. They can't be hitting them flush. They felt very close to the MP4's for me.

I'm totally with you on this. These irons feel fantastic. Used mine yesterday and the short irons are like throwing darts. Also they get through long grass better than my Ping's, this was really noticeable.
