Folks:

I'm headed to Scotland in about 6 weeks and need to find some quality raingear that's not going to break the bank. I've been looking at Nike's StormFit, Sun Mountain RainFlex, and another company called "Sunice" out of canada. They've got a few PGA players on the bankroll, and they're gear isn't that badly priced.

Has anyone used it? If so, what models? I need something that will repel/stop pretty decent rain, not just mist, while allowing shotmaking ability. So 100% waterproof and freedom of movement is a must.

Their web site is at www.sunice.com

Yer i had one and just got rid of it recently and replaced it with the Proquip Silktouch because i found that it wasnt waterproof anymore  maybe because i had the storm version which i got super cheap and not one of the Top of the range ones.I felt like the storm wasnt very easy for movement but I've heard that the hurricane is amazing but the storm wasnt for me but im sure one of the better ones will be much better...

I'm an ebay addict and having trouble finding ProQuip stuff on there. I hate paying retail for anything these days.

Can anyone lend a review to Sunice, or the Sun Mounain stuff? How about Nike? There's plenty of the Sunice on ebay cheap(er) and i'll only use it this one week adn then maybe 1-2x a year here in PHX. Thanks.

I used my SunMountain Rain Flex in Scotland and it held up pretty well. However, be aware that the temperature can drop at a moments notice so what starts out at sunny and 75 can turn windy and 50 at the drop of a hat. I'd definitely go with long sleeves.

However, you can't go wrong with Zero Restriction, also they sell a ton of Galvin Greene stuff up there. Anything with Gore Tex is a sure bet that will never let you get wet. Plus the stuff is guaranteed for life, few other companies are willing to make that claim.

proquipusa is has special low prices for silk touch jackets ($130) and navy blue pants ($90). Delivery in US is $10. Add something to your cart and then "continue shopping" to see items with savings.

Thanks for all the replies. I realized i had a waterproof windshirt i bought at Spyglass in Monterey CA this April, and so i added a Sunice jacket from ebay (cheap, $60) and some Footjoy pants. I also have a set of Rainflex stuff (jacket and pants) from sun mountain coming in the mail (soon i hope) so I'll have dry stuff each day.

Galvin Green. Cant go wrong there. Proquip is a good second

Also take a look at Stuburt that might be a cheaper option.

Next to impossible to find in America, I discovered. Shipping from UK is prohibitive and with the pound at an all time high, it's not economically feasable at this point.

I'm not a big fan Sun Mountain Rain Flex gear anymore. First off, I love that it's quiet and it does keep you dry; but it seems to be so hot. It's not breathable AT ALL. I only wear it for cool days now...

If you go to the GG website, theres a Canada dealer that'll ship to the US. I didnt check the exchange rate though.

Hot? Perfect! I'm going to need it when it's 55* in Scotland.

Funny thing: I got the shipment and they sent me the wrong stuff. They sent me a short sleeved version so now they are sending me the long sleeve too. I'm going to test the short sleeved version this weekend; we're supposed to have 3 days of rain in AZ.
