I have a set of the dpc irons. What can I say that hasn’t already been posted? Amazing feel, gorgeous and quite forgiving. It’s going to be hard to really make anything substantially better

Not to bring back a dead topic but I built a set of J38 dpc's for my dad. He loves them! He was searching for something to replace is beloved Mizuno MX-23's and this was about as close as I could get for him. Picked up the heads brand new and built them for him one weekend.

Also, one evening my now wife and I were at the range and she left her clubs at home. I was working for Bridgestone at the time and she borrowed one of the demo clubs to hit some golf balls with. She was absolutely crushing the J40 non dpc. Her normal set was some boxed Maxfli ladies set but she was hitting these about 10000x better! I called in a favor and she ended up having Santa bring her a set that Christmas decked out with pink paintfill too! She doesn't play much but when she does, her irons are her favorite and her strikes with them make it look like she plays twice a week!

Where did you find new J38 heads?  I would probably pay PXG prices if I could find some new or mint J40 or J38 DPC heads at this point.  Biggest mistake ever was selling my J38's.

I had and loved the J40 DPC's.. The only J15 that hits the mark us the CB.. I will admit that the Srixon may feel better than all, if only by a little. Had I not gone SL, I would have labored over choosing the J15 CB, Srixon 745/765, or the Cobra CB.. All fantastic irons..
Cobra F7 SL - Modus 105x
Cobra F7 Driver
Looking for 3 wood
Cleveland RTX 52* (wearing out)
Titleist SM6 60* (love it, need 2 more)
1 Titleist 913H (good enough, f7 4i might be better)
Old Ping Putter with a new grip

I would maintain that the J15 DPF didn't get enough love based on looks alone.  I think they do perform though, especially in the long irons.  You would think that at some point in the near future Bridgestone would have to remake the J40 DPC or something very similar.  It would be an absolute shame to mothball an all time great design like that.  If not, some small manufacturer should clone the crap out of it.

If you think the Srixon 7 series is better than all of them, that's definitely saying something.  I've been playing Srixon woods forever so I'm a big fan.  I've been thinking about give the 745/765 irons a go for a long time.  Held off on the 745 because all the sets i see floating around have DG S300, which I hate.  I'm not crazy about 765 looks compared to 745 but there are a lot more sets floating around with shafts I like so I will likely try them out at some point if prices drop enough.  New Srixon irons should be out at some point this calendar year though.

I think the Srixon 700 series are very nice, but I don't think they feel any better than the Bridgestone J40 CB or DPC and I prefer the turf interaction of the Bridgestone sole over the v-sole. To me Bridgestone nailed the sole on these irons. I do think you can get a slightly better result on mishits across the face with the Srixons due to the weighting.

And I say if you can play the Srixon 765 you can play the 965, so why not play the 965? A muscleback with CB forgiveness and a slightly larger profile that makes it very playable. Excellent sound on good strikes. I tested both and got better numbers with the 965 so I went with them.

I am sitting pretty with a set of DPC/CB combo and a set of CBs both shafted with PX LZ shafts.
These irons are great but the regular PX or the PX flighted were pretty stiff shafts flex wise. With the LZ, these are incredible.
I am always amazed by the feel of the pitching wedge compared to my gap wedge - that's a mizuno !!
