I see so many posts about DPC but very little about CB. I know DPC is easier to hit and is more forgiving, but why is DPC more popular? I think CB looks better and performs amazingly well. Any thought?

Do yourself a favor and get a combo set on eBay. 4-6 DPC and 7-PW CB. These are some of the best feeling clubs that I have ever hit!

DPC is more popular simply because it's easier to hit.  It therefore markets to a larger audience.

DPC are awesome; some forgiveness with a players profile.  Unless you are scratch and better I don't see the point in the CB's.  Freddie Couples plays the DPC's (or at least he used to).

Interestingly, DP also has less offset than the CB. Can't say I understand why but that was the only issue I had with te CBs.

I have played both and prefer the cb. Dpc are a longer heal to toe than the cb and I did not see much performance difference between the two. Both sweet feeling clubs though

I came from MB's and I love my B'stone CB's.  The thin topline is great, the feel is phenomenal, and I have found them to be very forgiving.  When I have friends hit them that have never even heard of them they can't believe the sound, and feel they have.  I haven't hit the DPC but know that many love them.  I have seen them in a PGA SS but I didn't like the look as well as my CB's.  This is of course a purely personal choice.

To get the black finish like Kuch you would need to strip the chrome from the irons and gun blue them or let them rust. The only issue is that the head weight would drop and possible cause swing weighting problems.

I have played with the DPC in the J38 and in the J40.   I will agree the DPC is easier to elevate from the turf and a little more forgiving in both iterations.

That being said I play the CB's, I don't have a huge problem elevating the ball and my miss is not with missing the Sweet Spot but missing with my hands being open or closed at impact and the DPC cannot fix that. I prefer the look of the CB's better and since there is no performance benefit either way I have played them almost exclusively.

Played both in both J38 and J40. All of them are gorgeous irons and perform extremely well. The J40 cb is a beautiful club, but the DPC is very nice as well. Like some others have mentioned, a combo set works great. The only thing I didn't care for was the offset in the J40 line didn't match up the way I thought it should have. The J38 flowed better with the offset between dpc in long irons and cb in short. I also liked the sole of the J38 slightly better than the J40. But to be honest, you can't go wrong with any of them. Probably the only set of clubs that could kick my MP's out of the bag.

This might be a dumb question but do you think that is how they did kuchar irons?

More than likely with Kuch, they came from the factory raw and they did the hot black ox treatment for him. He is one of their flagship players so they will do what they can to appease him. Had a chance to hit a set of raw J38 DPC irons and they were pretty sweet feeling. I think the last ones they did retail in Black Ox were the J36. Even those are excellent irons if you can find them in good shape.

By more forgiving, do you mean more forgiving for a players iron, or forgiving as its a GI iron?

Is the DPC an iron that a bogey golfer could play?

A bogey player with a half decent swing would have no problems with the DPC's.  I have dallied with the Ansers and the MP H4's but I think I am moving back to my combo J40 set.  Best combination of ball flight, turf interaction and forgiveness for me.

If you're still looking, Budget Golf has 5-PW sets of the CB's on sale for $399, it looks like they have both Regular and Stiff also.  I have them quoting me a 4-PW set now, I am hoping they will keep the same price per club, but either way its a pretty good deal.

Does anyone have a pic comparing the CB and DPC from address?
