When I clicked on my link to enter Wednesday's round, I got an error message saying that page did not exist. I've got over 150 rounds over 4 years logged on the handicap. Please tell me that data is not lost and the handicap is coming back soon!!

I would encourage everyone affected by the discontinuance of the GD Handicap tracker to email these guys at editor@golfdigest.com. They cannot simply yank the tracker without warning, causing us to lose all those years of scores and stats.

As I remember it was a free service so they can yank it whenever they want. It isn't good that they did, but they can.

Are you kidding me...I don't have a GD Handicap but if I did and they deleted all of my info with-out telling me I would be PO'd...you would think they would at least give you a warning.

If there customer service is a priority to them at all then I think they would fix this situation.

My guess is they don't care. I've sent three emails in the past two days and thus far, no response. They need to get on this ASAP. Free or not, we have a right to know if they are pulling it so we can retrieve our information. Free or not, we relied upon them as a solid source in which to keep our records. Now those records are gone. Free or not, they need to make this right.

What do you mean by "bump" it? Sorry...I'm not following the jargon.

I kinda got the impression from reading their statement that they didn't intend to pull it. That something happened with the re-launch.

Either way, we need our stats back.

Maybe, rather than reinstating it, they can send you your history and you can take it from there. An e-mail to that affect my get a response. I'll also nose around with my contacts at Digest.

Here is a response in the Editor's blog from Management:

Golf Digest Handicap Tool

We’ve received a number of letters from users of the Golf Digest Handicap tool about the fact that our re-designed web site has no such tool. Besides disappointment over the decision to discontinue the tool, regular users of the Golf Digest handicap are afraid their scores will be lost. Fear not. We’re retrieving those files now and will send them to each of you who requests it.

Our apology for not doing a better job filling you in advance of our plans. We will connect you with a golf association in your area that offers an official USGA handicap, through a regular club or an online one.

Hope this helps

GDMichael

Thanks man. How do we request it? Just shoot an email? Do you have an email that would work better than editor@golfdigest.com? Thanks.

As soon as I hear something I will post it here. It will take them a bit to figure out how it is going to be done.

Here's an email I received this morning:

Thanks for your note. We understand that users of the Tool are upset and we don't blame them. Unfortunately, we've been unable to make the tool a part of the new site.

We'll make sure users have access to their data, however, and will let you know shortly how to do that.

Anyone know of another free, reliable handicap tracker?
