I know that I posted about my MacGregor Bobby Grace M5K auction that I won but I figured it’s gorgeous enough for my own photos (as opposed to the seller’s):

I picked this up as a high-MOI but also nostalgic experiment but it feels so good that it might be my putter.

Just sand blasted my Flanigan Bilt blade.  Meaning to do it if or awhile, since it was new really, so that kind of counts !?!

What is a straight arc? Is it like a jumbo shrimp?

You can order from Ping 2 versions that are described by Ping on their website. "Straight arc" is for a straight back straight through type of stroke. "Slight arc" is the other option where the toe of the putter is slightly more weighted for a more arc type stroke. I hope this helps you fellas in the future when you run into this description again.

For the past three years, I've only used head-heavy, face-balanced putters, which I felt went best with a SBST stroke. Everything I try feels kind of... I don't know, forced? Like no matter what I do, I can't lose the tension. A few days ago I decided to loosen up my stroke a bit and just let my shoulders do what they want to do, rather than trying to force a SBST stroke. I also wanted to give a lighter putter head a whirl to see what that would do. I've long felt that it's difficult to pull the putter head back naturally when the head is heavier.

So anyways, I picked up a very gently used Odyssey White Hot Pro 2.0 #1 at GG for $49 ($10 after I used some credit). It took exactly one practice session to feel good about my experiment. It just feels more natural and comfortable, like the putter is an extension of my arms. I don't know if my putting will improve at all necessarily (that's still TBD), but it's a worthy experiment. I feel less tense, so that should help.

Plus, the WHP insert is so smooth.

I’ve been on this kick where I’ve been buying a bunch of milled, “designer” flatsticks (TP Mills, Scotty, Grace, Betti, Kirk Currie, etc.). Nothing is high end, although all of it is... Butt not, if that makes sense?
No lie, the Grace is so stable, it may be my gamer and I loathe the word gamer. It is that fantastic, on the carpet.

The Maxfli "tm" series are milled carbon and feel great, though they are light. Personally I like the copper inserted 1st Run series and his newer "pro" series. Another random gem is a line of milled Zevo putters designed by Toulon of recent noteriety. I too have had a soft spot for milled putters over the years.

Wanted a high MOI “spaceship” for the stable. I fondly remember the MacGregor Bobby Grace putters. I’m thinking that center shafted may work best, for me, so I’m giving this a try. It appears in great shape (these would ding if you looked at them wrong) with the headcover, which is rare (they were junk), and a brand new grip. For $25 and a few eBay bucks, I’m excited.

Minus the light surface rusting, this appears to be in very good shape. Hard to tell so it’s a bit of a gamble but I don’t see any large dings. Complete impulse buy but it was $40+/-.

Pulled the trigger on another PING dalehead Anser.  I'm going to try and add Tungsten weights to one of the two.  The first one is the gold colored one that I bead blasted, this one I'm going to leave the patina, which I think is nice... which do you prefer?

I know that I posted about my MacGregor Bobby Grace M5K auction that I won but I figured it's gorgeous enough for my own photos (as opposed to the seller's):

I picked this up as a high-MOI but also nostalgic experiment but it feels so good that it might be my putter.
I picked up a 6.5K with the grip worn right off of it for $25.  A friend tried it and liked a lot...asked me how much.  I said if you love it keep it, it's yours.  After that he putt lights out and paid for my next 2 rounds + beer lol
I would suggest adding Tad Moore to your list of milled putters to pick up on the cheap.
So if just won this TM-4 for $40. I’ll need to clean it up a bit but I think it’ll b a great refinishing candidate.

Not been feeling the same about my Spider DJ Black since re-buying it so picked up a Vault 2.0 Ketsch for Ł155 to go alongside my Vault 2.0 Anser

WOW!! This thing is just as stable when swinging as the Spider but feels so so much better!!....it’s like cheating from inside 3ft!!

I mentioned this in the Deal or No Deal forum, but I picked up a Wilson Staff Infinite Michigan Avenue for $36 shipped from Budget Golf. It was $29.99 plus a 10% off coupon (code: UPS). I stumbled on their closeout deal pretty randomly: I was looking into experimenting with a cheap toe hang putter after playing with mostly face balanced or just barely toe hang putters for a while. I was looking at some cheap used Odyssey No. 9's on eBay but ended up looking at the Grant Park model of the WS Infinite line, which is a copycat shape and also $29 on Budget Golf. I much prefer the Michigan Ave shape, which is more along the lines of an Odyssey 1W and was pretty pumped to find out that it actually has a lot of toe hang - more than my current Odyssey No. 1 and just a bit less than the Grant Park. Plus they're counterbalanced and come in a 71 deg. lie angle standard. Win win.

Here's the links to the Infinite putters that are on closeout. Looks like they only have 34 inches, RH left:

Another classic putter from the 90”s. Cleveland Classic by Kenny Giannini. Carbon, light milling, black ox, and a sound slot. Flared pencil shaft. Don’t think it was played much IMG_1542761394.746002.jpg IMG_1542761408.351364.jpg IMG_1542761424.778483.jpg

Just picked this up on ebay, I've never owned a Never Compromise putter but I've been on a bit of a kick of collecting "Laguna" or "Ping Zing" type models lately just to mess around with different feels with the same model. If anyone has any other Companies that have made a similar style to these, let me know... i'm always on the lookout for another option for my ever growing putter collection.

Thanks

My Wilson Staff Michigan Avenue arrived today. I know, I know, honeymoon phase and all, but getting this thing for $36 is bonkers. Hell, I think it'd be a steal for its usual $100.

My points of comparison are an Odyssey WH Pro, Works Versa Tank 1w, and Cleveland HB 6c. I don't notice any obvious drop off in quality with the Wilson. The whole package looks and feels like a well made, solid piece of equipment. The grip and the headcover look nice and feel quality. The coubterbalancing is pretty subtle and not nearly as severe as the Odyssey Tank.

Most importantly, it feels great off the face. This is where I was most concerned. There's definitely a bit of feedback on mishits, in a good way, but putts off the center of the club have a satisfying click. Not a cheap ting sound, but a pleasing "tock."

All and all, I expected this thing to feel cheap, but it absolutely does not. I was a huge fan of the Cleveland for a while, but I think it might be TOO soft. The Wilson might be going in the bag.

My only real negative is that the many shaft stickers did not peel off nicely. That'll need some Goo Gone. I'm also wary of how well the finish will hold up.
