I am playing in my clubs Junior Matchplay Knockout and there is only 4 matches in the first round...so me and my partner play our match and i win 7&6,through to the semi's,and you have to go and write the who won and the score on the sheet with the draw on.The 2 other matches play and do the same as i did.For this competition there is a deadline date for when the rounds matches should be played by like any other knockout comp and that date was the last day of June. The guys that i am due play the winner of haven't played there match before this date.Should i get a bye to the final?
Can anyone help me?Im abit unsure...
Cheers
Ben

Without checking the rules specifically you would think so, otherwise what is the point in having a cut-off date.
On the other hand there may be extenuating circumstances which meant that they could not complete their match, i.e. previously arranged matches and holidays etc. If that's true, they still should have told you about this before the deadline.
Speak to your club secretary who should be able to give you a definitive decision. I'd be careful about asking for a bye as personally I would want to beat everybody and not win by a technicality but rules are rules and should be applied to all.
Good luck in the comp

The lad who is playing it says he hasnt contacted and hasnt spoke to the guy he was playing so it's nothing like that. But the boy who is playing is the son of the junior organiser which is going to get him what he wants if you get me...
Ive spoken to my club professional who is a qualified referee and he says i should go through.BTW i wasnt asking for a bye i was wondering if that would be the case!
Cheers!

Then why not ask the club pro to ask the organizer. That way you aren't involved in the decision and can't be accused of trying to get someone DQ'd on a technicality.
All you can do is put it out there and say 'whatever you decide is fine by me'. If people bend the rules, especially for 'one of their own' that sort of thing is noticed pretty quickly by the rest of the members who will be unimpressed.
It might be that you don't get a bye as the boy that was trying to play the match but couldn't because the other wasn't interested gets the bye and he plays you in the semi.
