Vokey adds 54, 56-degree D Grind wedges to WedgeWorks

Published

on

Titleist launched the Vokey SM7 D Grind in 2018, and through master craftsman Bob Vokey, the company has now introduced the club in new WedgeWorks 54.12 D and 56.12 D models.

According to Titleist, the new wedges align with Vokey’s philosophy of building a higher bounce sand wedge and mid-to-low bounce lob wedge into your setup.

Speaking on the addition of the 54.12 D and 56.12 D wedges to the D Grind team, Bob Vokey stated

“During most of my fittings, I’m striving to fit the player into two different grinds. We always fit based on how the player uses their wedges, but my preference is notably a high bounce sand wedge and mid-to-low bounce lob wedge, so they have the versatility to face all different types of shots and conditions. Bringing the D Grind to the 54 and 56 degree models opens up a great new fitting opportunity in these sand wedge lofts.”

The 54.12 D and 56.12 D wedges can be customized, including personalized stamping in up to 10 characters and one of 12 paintfill colors. Customers also have the opportunity of choosing between a selection of shafts, grips, shaft bands and ferrules.

Vokey WedgeWorks 54.12 D and 56.12 D wedges are available in a Tour Chrome finish and are available now from WedgeWorks on Vokey.com or by custom order, starting at $195.

    54 and 56 D should be a stock wedge.

Voke, you lost me at groove rule. It doesn’t matter what sole grind you add there. With the hard metal you use, and micro milling that doesn’t last after 5 rounds, Vokey’s haven’t felt like Vokey’s since 2009.

Bridgestone, Mizuno and Callaway all figured out softer metals, Vokey has not….

From the Forums: I need more forgiveness in my irons – Looking for recommendations

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing the most forgiving irons currently on the market. WRXer ‘TheShark1’ is on the hunt for a new set of irons, saying:

“Currently gaming the Mizuno Pro 225’s but think I need more forgiveness in my irons. My well struck shots are real nice, but my mishits are not performing as good as I had hoped anymore. I really like hollow body irons so if I could find something more forgiving in a hollow body iron that would be great.

Open to any and all recommendations other than Ping. Can’t hit Ping irons at all.”

And our members have been sharing their best suggestions in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • AvidSwampThing66: “Another vote for the super forgiving and fast Paradym irons.   They look really good for being a GI iron.”
  • bobfoster: “I just went from MP20 MMCs to the new 245s in my scoring irons (just played my first round with them today). If you have a chance to try them, you might find them worth a serious look.”
  • vman: “Shoot me down, but spend the money on lessons.”
  • J_Tizzle: “i525s are great off the heel in my opinion.”
