Paintfill flows like wine in Napa (Wedge Stamping Caviar)

Published

on

Pop open a tin of the finest beluga, GolfWRXers! But really, it’s less jelly-like substance, more richness of intrigue here. No salt-cured roe at Wedge Stamping Caviar, as we present to you some of the finest instances of hammer-and-stamp work spotted among the tour professionals assembled for the Procore Championship in Napa. Wine + caviar: what a treat this week.

Grab your mother-of-pearl spoon and dig in — with restraint, please. And be sure to check out the rest of our Procore Championship photos when you’re done.

Arguably, the finest wedge stamping this week belongs to Thomas “the Germanator” Rosenmuller. The German flag paintfill takes this Vokey to the next level.

No stamping (well, there could be) on Emiliano Grillo’s Callaway wedge, but plenty o’ lead!

Cashmere Keith certainly appreciates the finer things, and this extends to his raw 55-degree Mizuno Pro T1. A beauty!

University of Tennessee commit Tyler Watts already has school stamping on his TaylorMade MG5. We’re all about team loyalty!

The Traditional with a loft-bending flourish for Vince Whaley.

Webb Simpson’s wedge stampings have always been interesting, and this one is no exception. The Bible verse: “How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life.”

The Traditional, but make it left-handed (Garrick Higgo’s Vokey SM10).

Ending on a particularly tasty note with the Ryder Cup beckoning: J.J. Spaun’s Cleveland RTX6 ZipCore Tour Rack. Delicious!

Spotted: Incredible wedge stamping at the OccuNet Classic

Published

on

It is the middle of the year, and depending on how the year goes with success or learning experiences, it can be a grind. Speaking of grinds, little things like a fresh wedge in the bag can lift some spirits mid-season as one gears up for the summer. Much of that is on display this week at the OccuNet Classic at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas, on the Korn Ferry Tour. Let’s take a look at a number of cool hand-stamped designs, colors, and customization.

Nickname hand stamp with a custom red theme on the flange.

A collegiate theme throughout the set of wedges here, with some color variation.

Custom paint fill here with a high level of skill, patience, and creativity.

Some motivation on the back of this wedge, along with a custom grind.

More custom colors with a musical twist.

The dancing initials for your name in your favorite colors are always a great staple for club customization.

Multi-color application and a custom design. Taking the time and effort to nail these down pays dividends when there is a second look in the bag as you pass by.

It’s fascinating to see how the game’s best players take their style off the course and bring it to their bag. Additions like this can help that little spark when it comes to committing to a shot when it is crunch time.
