I know this question is probably brought up alot, but I love these new multi-compound golf pride grips(the ones Sergio and Monty use). I have the grip on my driver but on my woods i have tour velvet cords and on my irons i have tour wraps. Should i spend the money on the multi-compound grips or should I wait until i really need new grips?

I played with Tour Velvets and Crosslines forever and put the Lamkin Dual Density's on my clubs about 4 months ago (not sure if that is what Sergio uses). They are really good grips and remain very tacky...but do wear faster.
Bottom line... I would go off of what YOU want....it's all personal preference....they won't make you a better golfer. If you try one and like it, buy them. The Tour Velvet is probably the most popular grip out there.

those multicompounds are awesome, though
a little ugly, but yah, you should buy them!!

If the grips are in good shape on your irons I'd wait until you need new ones...and spend the $ on something else. Tomorrow is November and you'll have little time to wear out thee current grips in the cold weather. Then, in the spring, when golf season starts again, you should replace them then.

Definitely wait until you need the new ones and then pick them up. If you can do it yourself I would recommend it. I watched a video on how to do it and decided to give it a whirl. I did mine last year for the first time and just regripped my clubs with Winn G7s--lots of fun to put some sweat into your own gear and it's so damn easy!

Depending on where you are, the situation is different.
In cold weather states where the golf season is wrapping up, it's not worth it. But if you live in a state where golf season is year round, then go for it if you like the grip.
I live in NJ, where the season runs from around March-November give or take a few weeks. The winter time is the perfect time for me to either save up for new clubs that are coming out the following year or pick up cheaper clubs from people in a situation similiar to me. If I don't want to spend the money, the club hoing can slow down considerably if I wanted it to.
It all depends on your situation. I do like those Multi-compound grips, but I just got some new Winn grips on my irons and I love them. I used to be a Tour Velvet person until I played the other time in a very chilly wind. The hard rubber of the TV hurt my hands to the point where they felt more numb then they already were. The soft tacky feel to the Winns are just what I was looking for.

If you like the feel then I would go for it. They are the only contact you have with the club.

The velvets are awesome grips, if it were me I would wait til i need a change unless I felt like the other grips would improve my score.

As far as regripping I normally regrip my clubs every winter in anticipation of the upcoming season. If I'm playing alot i may regrip them again in midseason. As far as the type of grips you use that is all personal preference. You have see what works for you and what you like. Good luck.

I have always been a Crossline and Tour Velvet Player so grips are pretty cheap for me. But I have had a couple of clubs with the Decade Multi-Compounds and they are very nice as well.
