that for sandals, the crocs are really comfortable for a round of golf with good traction. Does anyone play in these? I just noticed Kevin Na's caddy wearing a pair.

As for the model being talked about were the off-road.
vanquish007
I bought a pair of the 'Off-Road' Crocs about a month ago in the only color I could tolerate. They are sooooooooo comfortable!

They're much more comfortable than flip-flops IMO. I'll usually pair them up with green or desert storm cammo cargo shorts and a tee shirt.

As for playing golf in them, I'm not so sure about that one. I usually want to be sure of my footing when I swing a golf club. I wouldn't even practice in them......but that's just me. To each their own though.

The Cross pictured below are the ones I took down (Off-Road). Highly recommended for kickin' around! cool.gif

I haven't tried them on or anything, but they are awfully dorky. I always giggle a little when I see a guy in them. They would have to be awfully comfortable for me to put them on. And it would have to be dark out... smile.gif
zojo
do people realize how they look when they wear these? I don't care how comfortable they are, that is no excuse for looking like a doofus. Please, under any circumstances, do not wear these in public. You can wear them, you know, in the garage or around the house where no one will see you, but other then that, don't.

Okay guys, chill out. If you don't like 'em, there's no need to go overboard here, find something else to read or post about.

Thanks

They are comfortable.....................but I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair. The have to be the dorkiest looking thing that a guy could wear. A buddy of mine showed up to the bar the other night in them, they all rode him so hard about them. The girls then started having a conversation about guys wearing these and they came to the conclusion that at least it gives them something to laugh about.

guys guys guys

being from boulder (the homeland of crocs)
i have been immersed in the whole croc madness, of course i thought they looked rediculous when i saw them but they are absolutley the most comfertable sandals i have ever worn, i opted for the all black, but to the original question, the flip flops have virtually no traction and once you get a little sweat between your foot and the sandal you are pretty much screwed, its like when you put a little shampoo on your shower floor, thats kinda how much traction your feet have to the shoe. so i say golfing in them is a no go, i tried it at the range, took 2 strokes and then went barefoot, overall a very comfertable shoe (all offerings) and the all black is not as obscene as the other colors, go ahead and try a pair out, you wont be disapointed

sorry, the sarcasm filter on some people may be broken. My apologies.

They are really only a sandal/flipflop replacement... throw them on your feet in the summer and go (and yes, they are comfortable!). These should not be worn to work, dates, etc., that is not their intention. As for golf, they are a no go, too slippery.
villa
Don't listen to the doubters. These things are awesome!

I wear them with jeans/combats/linen if i'm just popping out somewhere. They might be a bit dorky, but dorky is cool.

They're no good for golf i'm afraid - No traction.

P.S DON'T WEAR THEM WITH SOCKS!

imsocrabby
cros are good for a few things.....digging in the garden, the lake or the beach, amusements parks, etc.....but when I see you out in public with your little color coordinated crocs....i laugh at you*.

*unless you're under the age of 12....then you get a hall pass.

Golfing in sandals of any kind is for losers. But when your foot sweats in crocks they feel awful, you couldnt swing in them in the summer
Charlie_Foxtrot
Fugly. And they look like they would make your feet sweat. Like sticking you feet in a couple of heavy-duty zip-lock bags.

Tevas are my sandal of choice.
Golfer1016
I have a pair that I stole from my friend, but he has my half sheild from hockey still so we'll call it even. Anyhoo, the ones I have are the orginol/ more popular ones, in black. Theyre really comfy and I wear them every now and then. Theyre a little weird looking, but remember how weird shoxs looked when they 1st came out, now everyone has a pair. Someones right tho, I wouldnt wear my black ones with white socks, yucky. I have wore them with short black socks, and jeans before and you cant tell so its ok. I would wear them more but flip flops are easier and just as comfy.
Konrad
I went to the Travelers and saw Kevin Na on the practice green after his round wearing these, smoking a cigar in shorts. It was hilarious, and I mean that in a good way. I also saw J.B Holme's caddie and two other caddies wearing these. Seems to be a hit on the PGA Tour.

I'm not sure which hole it was, but I saw Kevin Na's caddie walking across the screen with some baby blue crocs on saturday at the 4pm eastern mark, as i mentioned above. Hmm...yeah, i'm not really adding anything that i have said before....lol

If you wear them you should seriously consider turning in your man card.

J/K guys.

I understand they are super comfortable. I couldn't bring myself to wear them but you gotta do what works for you.
HipCheck
They are everywhere, which must mean that they are either extremely comfortable, or sold in very dimly lit stores.

I'd have to go with the second choice there. When i tried a pair on(O COME ON we all have) it felt like sticking ur foot on a piece of styrafoam after a shower. I dont know how people can stand them, let alone GOLF in them.
Big D McGee
I swear, whenever I see a guy wearing those croc shoes, I feel like asking him if he's homesick for Holland. smile.gif

THESE are the most comfortable summer shoes you'll ever buy:

Keep your feet as cool as sandals (f'real, they do), and they look classic and sophisticated. I've been wearing the same pair of Sperry Topsiders for 4 years now, and other than looking "broken in", the shoes are as good as new.

But never, EVER wear socks with 'em!

i have to agree 100%. Topsiders are the best shoes ever. Thats all i wore to school like this entire year, and once they are broken in, they are very comfortable. Plus they look like something a golfer would wear after or before a round of golf.

Aah, the beloved Geography teacher's shoe of choice.

To be worn with leather elbow patches on your jacket.

Hey, what's wrong with a sports jacket? How about just wearing thongs, or those slip-on ones that Adidas makes, which are a bit sportier and more "golfer-like".

Ha, nothing wrong with a sports jacket but there is a lot wrong with having one with elbow patches.

Thongs are good as well (as long as you're not talking about the underwear!).

Either way thongs are a good thing

"Julio's Thongs for Men!?!?!"

Crocs may be comfy, but I can't believe people wear them in public. I'm with crabby. Crocs gave my wife a pair of bright orange ones that thankfully live in her closet. Even she can't bring herself to wear them around the house.

Pajamas and sweat pants are comfy to a lot of people too, but you probably don't want to see them on the golf course. wink.gif

You must try Keen shoes. The most comfortable shoes I own. I have the Aruba and Venice H2. Luckily I can wear them to work. Give them a try!

No doubt, I love my keen sandals, theyre more comfortable than the Tevas I've had in the past. As for the crocs, I've never tried them and was just curious as to who if any have worn them on the course during a round, since I saw Na's caddy wearing them during the round on sat.
HipCheck
I think Keen's look real cool, so I bought a pair once, but they were AT LEAST a size and a half smaller than what's advertised. That seems to be true about Keen, from reviews I've read. I didn't try another pair. I can't come to grips with ordering a 13 and a half!
FreakinA
Keens, Crocks, they are all gross. If I ever see someone golfing in either, I will begin using metal spikes when played so I can accidently mis-step on their feet.
ProVking
Crocs are the epitome of h***...sorry pal.

Get some Tour 360's haha
TheBUNKY
I bought a pair of the PGA Tour model Crocs after seeing them in a recent Golf Digest. I needed a new pair of something to wear to and from the course. My FJ sliders were getting worn out.

I think they are comfy, but I wouldn't play in them. If I were a caddy, I'd probably wear them too like many others are.
MoGolf
Got a buddy from Fla that was having foot problems. Started wearing Crocs, even on the golf course. One of the last times we played together, I shot a 76 and he beat me 11 shots in his CROCS. So YES, you can play in them, and some people do it quite well.
HOWEVER, I ain't wearing them on any golf course. I've gotta admit, I do wear them around the house/campground/lake/etc.
Boosty16
WOW!!!

Who the hell considers wearing crocs period!!! LET ALONE THINKING OF WEARING THEM IN FRONT OF THE GUYS AT A GOLF COURSE!!!

WOW!!!

Did your guys' man cards expire or something??? WTF!!!

Girlfriend is a nurse in a podiatrists office and says that they are one of the best shoes you can buy for your feet, let alone sandals. I guess they are especially good for diabetics who have foot issues. I own a pair and they are pretty comfortable. For all of you guys who are wanting to revoke man cards over them, jesus we got some insecurity issues dont we. man_in_love.gif
Ogre41
I don't know about the golf shoe idea, but they are supposedly quite comfortable. And if they are reccomended by podiatrists, then I may have to take another look at them. But man I am no fan of the look at all, but that being said, if they are as comfortable as advertised, then all bets are off.

i'd heard rumors at one point that the crocs company had bought out bite golf shoes, cant recall my source but i'm pretty sure it was only matter of time before they tried to get into this industry...
yeah if you do an online search they are DEFINITELY going to be seen on the courses in the near future...

PS i found a PGA tour edition Croc... not golf shoes but still funny.

Noticed the golf crocs in the golfsmith catelog that arrived on friday; not to sure about this concept. From a techincal standpoint they would seem to be a bit to forgiving and soft. One of the reasons I wear FJ Classics is because of the major foot support.

My kids like their disney model as well. I own something similar (not kids disney version....black clog looking things) and wear them to mow the grass...and that is it. To each their own....where I am (SC)...I see guys in bright orange Crocs (Clemson)...and shake my head everytime I see a grown man wearing bright orange Crocs in public.

Bite & Crocs are now the same; expect Bite to use a croc insole on their golfsandals, and Crocs to come out with a Golf croc that has a molded "softspike-like" bottom by the end of spring (mens & ladies)
