Hey everybody, just wondering what everybodys favorite time of day to play is. I prefer to play around 9:00AM and sometimes around 6:00PM when the day starts cooling off. Anyways I tee off early Sunday morning at 6:30 am. I've never played that early, how wet will the ground be?

I like around 8:30. Not to early not too late.
Otherwise I like to play really early so I can be home and still have the rest of the day to do my chores.

11:00 AM. That way I can have a late breakfast, skip lunch, avoid the cold morning air in the Spring and Fall, and play on a drier course.

I also like sleeping till 2. . .so its a win-win.

I have the standing first tee time on weekends at my course. This time of year I tee off at about 6:45-7:00am. Or whenever the guy finishes cutting the first green.
On the weekdays I try to get in a couple of nine hole rounds after or before work if the weather allows me.

LOVE to play EARLY, No matter what time, whether it is 6 or 8. I hate tournaments sometimes because they put us off at 1 or 2. we have had one 8 am tournament this year, and it advantaged me with the time, plus it was a Jr. World Qualifier!

By 8:00AM. It keeps the peace in the house because I'm usually back in the house by 1 or 1:30.

I prefer 9-9:30 because by then the course is cut, the greens are still (somewhat) smooth, fast, true-ish. I rarely get to though and find most of my golf around 3-4 when the greens are bumpy from the footprints ( I really wish they'd firm up the greens here...), not real true, fast (still) and the fairways are kinda shaggy from growing all day. Not bad...but a little shaggy.
I'd rather play early then go to work....yeeeeeeeeeeah.

About 7 pm. Gives plenty of time to get 18 in by dark. As long as nobodies in the way, its doable.

7 am. First tee time on my course and it means no-one in front to hold you up. At times it's just like having your very own golf course. In winter we tend to play as soon as it gets light.
Another bonus is I get home to spend time with my wife and daughter so less politically sensitive.

One Word - FIRST!!! I get to set the pace. Since I play fast, I never have to worry about people behind or wait for people in front to line up their 3 foot putt for a snowman.
Walk to ball, assess the shot, hit it, repeat. 3-3.5 hours later, I am home.
As for morning dew, it will slowly soak through shoes that are not waterproof if you walk.
Good luck

Have a noon game every day. Later the better, hate playing in the mornings. Not a Morning person for one and two I hate it when the ground is wet.

Playing in the morning stinks. I hate the wet course. Perfect for me is 10:30 -11:00 AM weekdays.

Usually the mornings are very wet with all the DEW that grass captures and contains which prone to make people (me) slip.
All my rounds are played on weekdays, weekends are for family, I work 3 days a week (Thurs - Sat).
Take care of my daughter Mon and Tuesday. On those days, I get out at least 3 - 6 times a month to play 9 or 18 depending on my tee time and if the house is clean and dinner is ready to go. On Wednesdays, both kids are in school and I try and play 36 starting no earlier than 8:00am no later than 1:30pm but I will stay home and go do things with my wife if she does not work on those days and does not feel like playing with me then it's SOLO!
I get plenty of holes in despite the schedule and it will only increase because my son goes with me somtimes and my wife hated the game 2 years ago but since I got her a set, she often asks when the next round is, my daughter is 2 but she has a healthy stroke and soon, it will be a family thing, then Disney won't be just for Mickey anymore!!!

During daylight savings time months, we play three or four times M-F after work. On weekends because of the heat, we play late afternoon/early evening. During the "winter" months, we play on the weekends between mid-morning to mid-afternoon and try to get off early from work (around 3:00) to play a couple of times during the week.
