Most I paid was $125 for a fundraiser for my daughter's school. Nice private course.
I have the opportunity to put down $225 for a tournament at the Oak Tree Mens club, host to the 2006 Senior PGA. Exclusive Men's only club. Benefits the Childrens Miracle Network. I have the wife's support but I spend quite a bit on golf already.
Got me thinking, What's the most you've paid for a Charity Tournament?

100 dollars a man most of the time around here, 300 for the team. Sometimes less

I work in an industry that runs on payback. We are "encouraged" to register a foursome for John Doe's charity tourney right around the time we enter into contract negotiations. Naturally Doe will pony up for a foursome to close a contract with Company B who in turn supports the favourite charity of Company C and so on. My husband laughs that it is like that $500 cash Christmas present in the movie "Goodfellas". The same $2000 charity donation just keeps getting passed around from one company to the next every time there is a new contract negotiation.

We used to have a Charity event here in Michigan called " The Richest Day in Golf", it was sponsored by local radio stations , the car companies and a few local celebs, it was a few thousand per player to participate, but the gift bag you received at the start of it was amazing.
They played it at Indianwood one of the clubs i belong to, they would convert all 18 holes into Par 3's, they would award a 1st and 2nd place prize for each hole, miilion dollar hole in ones, some of the prizes were complete sets of equipment, trips, it was really quite a tourney.

In my area some of these charity events get very pricy, I play in one that is $2500 a foursome, but fortunatly a company is picking up that tab.
I rarely enjoy those events. The pace of play is usually very slow. I had a 6 hour round in that 2500 dollar event. 2 foursomes on every tee. I was miserable, but they raised a lot of money.

I have a $2000 per 4some event this week. I thought that was pretty pricey considering it isn't being held at Pebble Beach.

DUDE! I am playing in that tournament too! I support the CMN whenever I can, terrific people and program. I am actually the coordinator for the OUHSC Miracle Run that benefits the CMN so I talk to them all the time. The Miracle Run takes place every April, this past year we were able to donate over $10,000! Pretty cool stuff. You should play, especially if the wife supports it, you'll have a great time!

The Gladney Cup is around $10,000 per foursome, but may be the greatest tournament there is. It's played every other year and rotates. It's at Colonial every four years. The other years it has been at Winged Foot or Congressional.
The proceeds go to The Gladney Center in Fort Worth which is an adoption center. Just a great, great place. I believe there's actually a player on Tour that was adopted from Gladney, but I could have my facts wrong.

I keep wanting to enter a tournament at Oakmont every year, but it's $1000/person and $4000/team. I keep trying to find a company or someone to sponsor it but no one ever will. Since its a scramble, I also get the objection that "I won't pay that much if I don't get to play my own ball."
