I just got a Pinseeker 1500 rangefinder. For those that have experience with rangefinders, what do you find is most convenient way to carry them while playing? I walk about 90% of the time and my bag is a Ping Hoofer Vantage.
I'm thinking I'll just keep it in one of my golfbag pockets (the small pocket next to the full length apparal pocket). That way it will be out of site. The drawback is that I won't have the protection of the case.
The other option is to use the fanny pack case that it came with. I don't think there is any way I could be comfortable playing with that case on my waist. I have heard some people attach the fanny pack case around the top collar of their bag. That might be worth trying.

The fanny pack case is made to fit around the top of your bag....look at some of the tour WITB pics and you will see

get a crown royal bag and keep it in there within your golf bag. That way it won't likely get the lenses scratched, dirty, etc.

I have a little pocket on my Cleveland Stand bag, and my Bushnell stayed in there at all times. Now, that I play with a SV e cart, during the round it stays in the mesh pocket. When I am not playing, it goes back in to the small pocket in my Cleveland bag. The bag that came with the Bushnell is in my golf closet - I never use it.
A pocket in your golf bag provides more than enough protection. I have had range finders for around 9 years, and the lens has never gotten scratched. If the body gets scuffed, I don't care. It is a tool, so I expect a scratch or two.
While playing, mine has fallen out of the mesh pocket, onto the grass. I pick it up and continue to use it.
So don't worry about babying it. Keep it in a place that is super convenient to access during the round. In between rounds, just keep it in a pocket in your bag.

If you have the fanny pack use it around the top of your bag! i would die for that! I have mine clipped to the towl ring on my bag, in its case.

I just keep my Yardage Pro in the case that clips onto the bag. I don't see how having my $150 in sight is any different than having my $300 driver in sight.
If I'm riding, I usually put it in the cup holder.

I do the same thing with the Yardage Pro. I actually find that the more I play, the less I use it. I guess it is helping with my distance judgement or something
