Traveling to Louisville in late June and would love some good golf course recommendations. I'm only going to get to play one round and price is not really a concern. I'd love to play Valhalla but don't have the connections to do so.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

For a town as big as Louisville, it is hurtin' for public golf. Quail Chase (27 holes) is probably the best in town. If you've got time (30 minutes or so one way), drive across the river and play Fuzzy's course (Covered Bridge) in Indiana.

Thanks KDMullins,

I will have some time to travel as I get into the airport @ 12:00 pm. I completely forgot about Indiana courses but if I remember correctly, Indiana is in East Coast time whereas Kentucky is still in Central. That might be cutting it a little bit close if I want to get in 18 holes.

I'll take a look at Covered Bridge.

Any other ideas anyone?

Not anymore, their time is the same as Kentucky and Ohio.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know they have a reciprocal policy, I just don't have a club pro. biggrin.gif

I don't know how far Jasper,IN is from Louisville, but Sultan's Run is one of my favorite in the state.

Looks like it's 1.5 hours from Louisville so I'll have to look for closer options.

Thanks for the suggestion indyplayer!

The Cardinal Club, if you can get on it.

The Cardinal Club, if you can get on it.

Can't get on any private course since I don't belong to one here in Texas so I have no reciprocal privileges. I see that the courses listed below are on Covered Bridge's website. Here's their approximate travel times from downtown Louisville, according to the website:

Fifty-three (53) minutes: Chariot Run

Twenty-nine (29) minutes: Polo Fields

Twenty-eight (28) minutes: Persimmon Ridge

Twenty-seven (27) minutes: Cardinal Club

Twenty-three (23) minutes: Lake Forest

Twenty-two (22) minutes: Hunting Creek

Twenty-one (21) minutes: Glen Oakes

Nineteen (19) minutes: Quail Chase

All are within my travel distance but only Quail Chase looks like it's not private. Is it better than Covered Bridges? Any other courses out there that I'm unaware of?

Any help would be appreciated.
