I would doubt any state has any more golf history than Texas, but this makes for an interesting discussion. I figure that between Hogan, Nelson, and Penick no other state has had more influence on the game of golf than Texas.

With Hogan, Nelson, and famed writer Dan Jenkins all having grown up in Fort Worth, I don't know of another town that has had more influence on golf. Add that it's home to the only course in the nation that has hosted a US Open, a women's US Open, a Players Championship, and a regular PGA stop with one of the better Wall of Champions and the argument get's even better.

Okay, enough of the chamber of commerce speach.
