let's hear it...

Love these wedges. Standard for wedges in my opinion. I played the Vokey wedges and have these for now.

I tend to go back and forth. Playing real well with these and can see how they have been sooo popular for so many years on tour.

Just about to pull the trigger on a brand new 53/56/60 set for a bargain!

It's like coming home again yahoo.gif

They look and feel perfect to me - although I'm pretty happy with my RAC's. But nothing beats the 588 56 SW!

Which store are you buying them at, Soeren ?

Claus,
Found a 56, 60 set at Passebækgård ( cheesy.gif ) Proshop for DKK 649!.
The only have LW's left now.

I also got lucky on a new 53 diadic in Supergolf Greve for DKK 800 to complete the line-up.

I get them tweaked wednesday next week in due time for the Club C'ships.

You CAN find them new still on Ebay, the challenge is to get seller to ship overseas. A lot of them still believes that Denmark is a clay-hut in Uganda, capitol of Indonesia crazy.gif russian_roulette.gif

I'm not sure what Cleveland is thinking here. They have discontinued this line. The tsc has a great grind which is different from all the other 588 finishes. The CG's look and play great, but the grind is just so so.

I think the 588 tsc's are the best wedges you can buy unless you go to scratch golf and pay big bucks to get custom grinds.

Hey again, Søren hi.gif

The funny thing is that I ALREADY own a complete set of the ALL TIME GREAT 588 TSC's - bought them last year at TGW (paid 40$/club because of a christmas bargain and coupon code at www.tgw.com and the 588 TSC line were being faced out - I don't understand WHY the hell, Cleveland does this; the 588 TSC is the best wedge they ever made)
But as you know, wedges tend to get beat up pretty fast and my 588 TSC lob wedge is soon to be retired bye.gif

Did you pay 649 kr/stk at Passebækgård for the TSC wedges or total for the pair ?

My 588 TSC Diadic 53° wedge is in perfect condition - only use it on full shots and on chips from straight lies.
My 56° TSC sandwedge is also in OK condition, but my lobwedge has some pretty big marks and scratches all over the face black eye.gif

I can still use it, but I also purchased a complete set of the Mizuno MP T Black Nickel series (51°/56°/60°) and on top of that a set of the great Vokey's (52°+56° in tour satin Chrome and 60° in Spin Milled Satin) so I'm well covered - just love my 588 TSC wedges (but not bettter than my Mizuno's and Titty Vokey's though) and would like to get my hands on one of the last attainble 588 TSC 60° lobwedges, perhaps for sentimental reasons rolleyes.gif

These wedges are great. Had them for years, but just switched to the CG10's. They are just as good if not better. The grind on the 60 TSC is the best ever.

Claus, they still have a few (649,- a piece) LW's at Passebæk - at least when I was there a week ago, give them a call to make sure though if You need a spare.

Well, for me nothing - including CG10 (don't like them at all) - beats the 588.
I've played Vokey, Vokey tours and RAC's for the last couple of years. I honestly dont like the grind on the RAC 56 SW and the 58 boxgroove tour I had bent to 57 had too little heelrelief.
The RAC satin GW is second to none ok.gif and it could go back in the bag....
But wedges are a very personal thing - either You love them or don't care for them at all.
We'll see how the new RAC TP Y-cutters perform but for now I am happy with my new 588 line-up smile.gif

I think the discontinuing of the 588 TSC is sad. A true tourwedge (apart from the most aggressive groove) available to the retail market.
Absolutely perfect wedges IMO.
cheers,
Soeren

I have an intimate relaitonship with my 60. it lives all aorund the house with it's little pile of balls, we're pretty close.

Hit the 60 and was so workable, i could hit incredible flop shots under trees and in the FW, one of the best, will replace the 900 soon

Have you or anyone ever tried or have knowledge of the performance of EIDOLON Wedges? I currently have the 56 and 60 Cleveland 588 but have been looking online at the EIDOLON website http://www.eidolongolf.com/ and hoping to get an opinion or comparison on these before buying them. I like my Clevelands' but looking to see if there is anything better out there. Also I am in the market for a Gap wedge. Suggestions (Currently playing Callaway Big Bertha 2006 and my PW is a 45 degree) - Any info would be appreciated.

Couldn't have said it better...

The 588 is a great all-around wedge. It is classical in design and has been tour tested. You can find deals on these now, so for the money they are a bargain.

I have got the 60 degree 588 TSC and the 56 degree 588 std chrome. I have to wonder if part of the phase out of the TSC line is to sell more high margin newer models. The manufacturing costs can't be much different, but the sell price is $30 - $50 higher on recent wedges from Cleveland.
