Ok... I know I should have TiVO or something but I like The Shield so I didnt watch The Big Break. No big deal until I watched the catch up marathon this past weekend. Anyways... who got eliminated tonight? I'm rooting for Big Mike to win it all... hope it wasn't him.

Don Donetello. WHAT WAS HE THINKING. Kept the 5K, to go into the elimination challenge and got eliminated. He won the Aspen though! My question is how in the he77 does DAVE continue to stay on the show

Whew... Mike has got serious game. I've never met him but heard about him a few years ago. He plays at Crosswinds in Savannah, GA, same course I used to play weekly when I lived there a few years back. From what I understand, he was unreal.

Thanks for the update guys... and big props to Tommy Two Gloves this weekend in the Wachovia!!!

Mike has a ton of game. He may be in totally different shape now than he was back then, but he was one of the better amateur players in the country in the late 1980s, was thought to be an upcoming guy on the Nationwide Tour in the early 1990s....and then he got the yips and basically ended up quitting the game for awhile. But he's still very talented.
Charlie_Foxtrot
Double D needs to get out of his own head and just play golf. A series of bad decisions tonight.

He also stopped playing competively in the mini tours and Hogan Tour to spend more time with his family.

From the Golf Channel:

MIKE FOSTER
(The Big Break II)

Birthdate: 5/20/68
Residence: Savannah, Ga.
Hometown: Vacaville, Calif.
Occupation: Marketing representative
Marital Status/Children: Married/1
Home Golf Course: Crosswinds Golf Club
Collegiate Experience: San Jose State University
Hobbies: Coaching youth athletics, boating

Bio Update: Since his heartbreaking departure from Las Vegas in The Big Break II, Big Mike has spent most of his time with his family. Mike says that his Big Break II experience hasn't changed him one bit. Case and point, he still works at Sam's Club and he coaches his son's youth football team. The last glimpse any GOLF CHANNEL viewer has had of Big Mike was when he, Don Donatello, and Dave Gunas all appeared on an episode of The Big Break IV: USA vs. Europe, competing against the U.S. and European teams. He still gets recognized to this day, not for his golfing abilities, but for the bus ride to Las Vegas with Matt Griesser in episode one of The Big Break II. Mike expects to be competitive in The Big Break VII: Reunion, and he's hopeful that this will maybe give him another chance to play competitive golf again.

The Big Break II Bio: You wouldn't know Mike was a native Californian with the gentlemanly drawl he has developed since moving to Georgia. With an impressive golf resume behind him, he is looking to rekindle the competitiveness missing from his game for the last four years since retiring from full-time competition. He says his career took a major turn in 1999 when his son 3 years old at the time asked why daddy was never home. Mike started golfing at age 4, but he played other sports, as well. It wasn't until high school when he decided to concentrate on golf and, subsequently, earned a scholarship to play for San Jose State. In 1988, he won low medalist honors at the U.S. Publinx Championship, competing against current notable pros like Robert Gamez and Kevin Sutherland. In 1991, he qualified for the final round of the PGA TOUR Qualifying School, and missed earning his TOUR card by a mere two strokes. He went on to play successfully on the Hogan/Nike (now Nationwide) Tours in the early 90s, and teed it up with today's headliners like Ernie Els, Tom Lehman, David Duval, Olin Browne, Stephen Ames and the GOLF CHANNEL’s own Jerry Foltz.

I actually got these guys confused, I really meant DAVE. Mike is a Good player, my heart wants him to win it all< brain says Tommy. Dave is the guy who I am very suprised to see him still hanging around on the show. Putting is what he's best, I think Kelly and several other particpants are/were better ball strikers, by a ton! Not really impressed, but that is just me
golfman1229
who won the immunity?

kyle
chippen
dave
rosskoss
Donetello may have game but he sure is a little light up there. What a series of bonehead moves.

I agree. It seems he may have been in some special education classes when he was growing up crazy.gif He definately got a little rainman in him!

Mike's a crowd favorite, but I don't know if he could make it walking 18 holes. I had a really hard time a couple episodes ago just playing 1 hole 3 times.

I think Tommy got a great shot now that DD is gone...

DD choked...he didn't want to give up that $5K and thought he'd just breeze thru the elimination..then he made some really bonehead decisions...
Charlie_Foxtrot
I'm surprised that Dave is still around too. His shotmaking isn't great, but (I guess) his "course management" makes up for it. He doesn't seem to make stupid mistakes, and he uses his strength (putting) whenever possible.

Ashley is lucky to still be on the show after last night. If DonDon hadn't screwed the pooch so badly, she'd probably be the one walking into the sunset with the Hulk/David Banner lonely music playing in the background.

Edut fer spelin.
crew_138
DD is just a sad story... he seems really confused. 3 bad decisions last nite.

Dave is pretty smart a weasel of sorts...

Ashley is good, but I don't think it's enough

I bet a shootout between Tommy and Mike.

Tommy wins!

I wonder if Big Mike played on the same team with Arron Oberholser at San Jose State.

He is 7 years older than Oberholser.

Just watched the latest episode. I knew DD was a goof, but he really outdid himself with what he calls 'thinking'. The show has slowed down, it was more exciting when there was more sneers and jeers among competitors, the goofiness of the yoga twins, Bri being snotty, Tommy bitten by the love bug......

I know these guys are all nervous, but jeez, hit a par 3 green please. DD is a long way from his tour dream.

Just watched the episode last night and I agree on all counts. I was definately surprised that DD risked it all for $5K. I know they kept alluding to him having some financial problems, but come on man. huh.gif
