I'm a 4 handicap and I usually shoot in the mid-high 70's at my home course (Plateau Club in Sammamish WA). It is rated the toughest course in Washington State.

At the beginning of the season I set a goal to shoot Even PAR (72) there just once. My previous best has been 74 which i've shot there 4-5 times. I have shot 70 twice on par 70 courses but have never shot par at my own course and never broken par anywhere. I met that goal today and did one better. I shot a -1 score of 71, my best round ever at my home course by 3 shots. This round represents a few firsts in my golfing life...

- First under par round ever on any golf course.
- First round of par or better at the Plateau Club
- Fewest bogeys in a round (only 1).

It all came together today. I made the 1 bogey on my 8th hole of the day, 2 birdies (on my 11th and 13th holes of the day) and then 15 pars. I drove the ball really well, but the stars of the show were my irons. I hit a ton of greens (12/18) and I was hitting the ball close to the hole a lot. The greens at the plat are still really bumpy (from recent punching) but I made a bunch of putts including about a 35 foot birdie putt on the 13th hole to get me to 1 under par for the day. After making this putt I realized that I was pretty deep into the round and under par and that shooting 72 was definitely possible. I finished pretty steady hitting all the greens on the last few holes (except on my 16th hole) and not making any big mistakes.

I'm really excited about meeting and exceeding this goal. I've been close so many times and to finally put it all together feels great.

Thought I would share it with my WRX friends!

Well done mate, I've gone under par for 9 holes but never for a full 18, I envy your 71. All the hard work and determination has paid off - a very deserving reward for you. clapping.gif

great job man! I've shot 3 under par for 9 holes, but never broken par for 18...though I will this summer

since most of my golf in high school was 9 holes only, I never got a chance to finish off some good days

Hi TigerFrank
Well done my friend it's a great feat you have accomplished that not a lot of golfer's will ever do, and remember hit fairway's and green's and knock that little ball into that hole and Im sure that it is a feat you will repeat.
Good luck and best wishes
