there are several good courses in Greenville you can play...pebble creek, cherokee valley, links o' tryon, willow creek, even greer country club (some of the best greens in the upstate), thornblade is private so unless you know someone, you probably aren't going to get on there. good luck!

I played Links o' Tryon years ago. I really liked it. You should check out The Cliffs at Glassy also its one of my favorite courses anywhere. Bent grass fairways with bluegrass rough. It might be private though. Don't hit too much club on 13....

carolina springs and bonnie brae are good semi private clubs. one is in mauldin and the other is in simpsonville. the man that designed bonnie brae went to the masters in 1960 and came back to greenville and took a wore out cotton farm and made it into a nice golf course. its all bermuda or was when i lived in greenville.
