Add Michelle Wie to the list of those who get the mute button whenever they talk. Kind of like Jimmy Roberts and other annoying tv personalities.

That's great Wie has turned pro and she has $10M a year in endorsements, blah, blah, blah.....

I don't mind watching her play, but at age 16 she has absolutely nothing of interest to say. Just her voice alone is annoying. And people complain about Tiger's useless answers to questions......

Looks like it's time for Michelle to start "Speechifying."

Good for a two minute laugh...

There are definitely many "uummmms" and "you know's" and "like" scattered throughout her answers.

She's just a kid, albeit a rich one, but I have to agree that listening to her is border line torture. Sure like that swing though................

Most tv types have nothing of interest to say...I never expect much from atheletes or politicians regardless of age. That being said I was watching tv with my morning coffee and golf channel had an interview with Ms. Wie, after the 4th or 5th word I did hit the mute button because her voice is truly annoying, especially at 5:15AM!

Geez give her a break. She's just 16 years old. At 16, I could barely put a sentance together.

I dont know about that... not saying I had or even have great grammer, but I was alot better spoken then that @16. She is quite painful to listen too. The amount of press coverage this girl is going to get she had better take some public speaking classes.

I agree with Johnny on that one!

Do you think that she ever flips on the TV, listens to herself being interviewed and is as horrified as everyone else??

16 years old or not, with the money she's making now and all the media attention around her, you'd think someone (parents or otherwise) would realize the need to help her learn how to speak a little more eloquently and intelligently.

Being 16 is no excuse. I could take any 16 yr old out of the Future Farmers of America program and they could make raising cows sound much more interesting.

I will give her some slack over the fact that the interviewers ask the dumbest questions.

Gee what's it like to make $10M but you don't have a car?
Do you miss school?
Are you nervous out there?

How about something to put everyone on tilt. Michelle, do you have a boyfriend? What are your curiosities? J/K.

I love the way Michelle Wie talks, she has the cutest voice. When she was being inviewed, she answered with very intelligent, precise and to the point answers. Go Michelle! biggrin.gif

Seriously, it doesn't bother me in the least how Michelle W or Tiger W's talk or answer questions, theirs is to play golf. The news media trys to get them to talk, tell the story of how they became good, how they did it, what were their thoughts while they were getting good, and a whole lotta other BS. Golf on tv would suit me fine if there weren't announcers, color people or anyone, other than the camera man, and the score board.

Michelle Wie certainly isn't boring, but her dad is. bye.gif

I concur...

She needs to take some of those as-of-yet unearned endorsement dollars and retain a PR consultant.

I guess she doen't bother me that much. I think her soft spoken voice dumbs her down a little. She will grow up eventually and lose the valley girl speak.
freddiec
personally I think Annika's voice is as annoying (although I'm a big Annika fan). and she always seems to have the same type of rehursed responses to questions.

Definitely have to agree with you on her tone. She sounds flighty and like she's sleepy all the time. And you guys are right--being 16 is no excuse with the big bucks. Nike doesn't have her own line, but I bet the folks at Sony will use her out front right now with marketing efforts. She'll be the one at corporate outings and acting as a spokesperson for them.

you know, like, i know what you mean, like, get a public speaking coach, you know?
