I already get Golf Digest, and I wasn't that big of a fan of Golf Magazine. Anyone get Golf Weekly? Is it worth the $17 that I found it for?

I think so.
Frankly, I'm getting to the point where I feel that Golf and Golf Digest have become pretty worthless.
The two weeklies are more informative to me (granted, no instruction, but that' the other thing, seems that the instruction stuff is all re-hash)

My favorite is Golf World. Always up to date and also much more accurate information. By the time Golf Digest and Golf come out, everything has already been said in Golf World. Probably the only thing I really want to look at in those two mags are the Whats in the Bags.

Golf World and Golf Weekly parallel each other with regards to information. That said, I much prefer either/both to Golf or Golf Digest. I have found that I have read every "12 easy steps to a 100 yd increase in driver distance" article at least a million times.......gets very old. The two periodicals mentioned first are more like the "People" of golf where as the formers are the "Popular Mechanics" of same. Your pick as none are really bad.

is there a magazine for more advanced golfers? it seems to me like Golf Magazine always dedicates half the issue to "curing your slice" and stuff
is Golf digest any better?

Golf Punk is a UK magazine, and it is unreal...
It's like FHM for Golf aimed at a younger generation 18-40's i'd say... Plenty of Golf Stuff like news, interviews, new products, instruction, club tests like golf mags but it also adds new golf fashion, the bunker babes, and golf porn (about 5 pics a month of some of the most picturesque golf holes in the world) if you can find it, definately give it a go, a top read.

I agree with Mr.Bull on this. Also with our Aussie friend who recommends Golf Punk! Check out the website www.golfpunk.com ..the bunker babes have helped my game way more than any slice curing tip in Golf or Golf Digest

Golf Weekly? Haven't heard of that one. Do you mean GolfWeek? If so that one is a good publication but costly. The annual subscription is somewhere around $70.
I prefer Golf World also.

GolfWorld is great...as previous posters have stated, much more timely info and none of the instructional BS. I got a 3 year subscription for $14.95.

Golf World is good but it is only about tournament golf. They have a small business section but not really up to snuff with what is going on inside the business of golf. I f you want all the tournament coverage and a killer business section get Golfweek. Golfweek is where you find who is suing who, who is buying who, new product, etc. It is the first point of PR for golf companies and if you like insider stuff go there first. It comes out weekly and is killer as the best mag in the business. Golf, Golf Digest, Golf Tips, and other fluff monthly mags are carrying too much travel garbage and cater to only the big 5 companies. If it had been up to them we never would have heard of Miura, Sonartec, Bettinardi, Nickent, Yes, and other second tier companies who make good product and are more innovative (in my opine, more innovative).

I read 'em all -- yes, I'm an addict -- I just go through GD and Golf Magazine a LOT faster and end up disregarding all of the instruction tips offered up therein. I figure why not... Occasionally there is a good nugget or two to be found, and you can get either mag for practically nothing if you hunt hard enough for a good subscription deal. The monthly Feherty article alone almost makes Golf Magazine a worthwhile read. For their sake, I hope they don't drop him anytime soon. Agree that a lot of the content is "mediocre at best", though.
Golf Week is a great rag - much better than the aforementioned two mags, at least for me.
Good tip on the "Golf Punk" mag -- I'm always on the lookout for interesting new reads. Maybe I'll give that one a look.

Be careful! that quote is only for 25 issues. - like half year. This is a weekly. I've never seen Golfweek really discounted too much. Much better deals available on GolfWorld, even free ones occaisionally are posted from time to time.

Does anyone read Links Magazine. It is my favorite due to the course reviews, especially overseas (for me in the US)?
