I've had this problem where I'd personally committed myself to wear it whenever and wherever I went (golf course, swimming, gym, scuba diving). However, wearing it while playing golf is such a nuisance. And for some reason, it also stiffens my wrist joints and ligaments. Imbalance of ions maybe? Anyway, has this ever happen to you?

Well, when I get mine on May 5th, it will be coming off when I play. I have skinny fingers so I know a ring will not be good.

Well, I will get mine on the 28th and this is a questionn I have wondered about. I am not sure if I will wear mine or not. I will try it out, but if it gives me fits then it will stay home.

Never had a problem with it--thought I would, but I don't even notice it's there. And congrats to you guys on the coming nuptials!

Definetly off while playing. Hurts the joints in my finger if I wear it.

Golf is the only thing I take my ring off for. I, too, told myself that I'd never remove it for anything -- and I DID play with it on at first. But I found that after a few rounds of golf, or a couple range sessions, my ring pinches and irritates the skin at the base of my ring to the point where I can't grip the club anymore. That's no good.
I wish I didn't have to remove it for golf, but I do have to.

July is when my single stint ends. I have my band already and tried it on (probably broke some superstition) while gripping a club. Definitely can't wear it while playing, kinda painful as my little and middle finger got squished onto the ring. Maybe its a sign my grip is to tight.

It all depends if I remember to leave it at home or not. It used to bother me, but I don't notice anymore as well. The only thing is I don't wear jewelry when I play sports. I know it would be hard, but if by some freak accident, you break or jam your ring finger. You may have to cut off the ring if there is too much swelling if you can't get it off in time. I know it is a horrible thought, but accidents do happen. Better safe than sorry.

Always off.
Even though I am short fat and basically unattractive you never know when the 20 year old cart girl will want to throw down with me between holes.
Seriously, off because it cuts my finger up. After 21 years of marriage I wear it less than ever it's on my key chain.

I take mine off when playing or heading on a golf trip. Wife does not like the fact I leave my ring at home on golf trips.
The reason - was playing golf in 45 degree weather and pulled off the glove ( I wear my gloves tight) and the ring came off and bounced down the cart path. Scratched it up pretty bad. So from that point forward, she would like to know it is safe from being lost.
On another note, do any of you guys get a look from your wife if you take your ring off at dinner etc and start spinning/playing with your ring?

Mine stays on pretty much all the time.
Haven't had much troubles as it's a "comfort fit" band, which is rounded a lot more so it doesn't dig.
kerrob
Apr 17 2007, 10:21 AM
Same as hbear....the comfort fit eliminates any issues. It just takes a while to get used to it wearing it while playing.
WeekendHacker
Apr 17 2007, 10:31 AM
Comfort fit helps but it also makes the ring a bit thicker in gauge...hence I still take it off when playing any sport. Same goes for the watch. That being said, I keep it in a pocket with nothing else - can't accidentally lose it by having it fall out when I reach in to grab someting else.

Yep - that's the way mine is...if you can feel it your probably gripping the club
too tight.

On. When we were picking out rings I made sure that I could swing a club with the ring that we were buying. I noticed it a bit at first and now many years later I don't even notice it is there.

I have a comfort fit ring and bothered me for about a week, but not since then. Get a decent ring with the curved inside and you should be fine as long as you don't have skinny boney fingers

I wear mine all the time. Never notice it. I have a 4mm comfort fit band. I somehow don't think an imbalance of ions has anything to do with it. Although I hear that a tinfoil hat can work wonders.

I take it off. My ring is heavy and thick so it is uncomfortable and alters the swingweight

Dont need anymore excuse why I am playing badly.

I once saw a friend taking his ring off and asked him about it. He said it bothered him during golf. I had never thought about it because mine is so comfortable (Comfort Fit). I honestly never think of it being on and would probably lose it if I ever took it off.
Mine is titanium too so it is very light. It also must have some ionic properties that flow from my hand down the shaft to the head of my titanium driver resulting in at least 10 more yards.
Congrats to you guys getting married soon or recently married.

However, I always take off my college ring. The Aggie ring is huge, and I can not hit anything with it on. (I can't hit much with it off)

I started out taking it off and putting it on a lanyard so I knew where it was (that was my wife's solution to me taking it off, that way it was still technically ON me). It used to bother me, but after playing with it on a few times I developed enough of a callous that it isn't a problem.
