Great episode last night. They are finally realizing that we want to see some golf. DD was great. Yelling after the putt was definitly encouraged by the producers. I don't want to hear about the ball thing. Phil did the same thing a few years back but he was yelling at fans who found the ball. I think we can all admit now that DD can play some golf. First hole with a piped drive then the 20 footer. Then hitting the pin to 2 feet after the lost ball (ended up not helping them, but that was a nice shot).
Overall i like what they're doing with more real golf and less gimmicks.

Not only hitting the pin, hitting the pin on the fly with a damn 5 wood! That's impressive. I don't care if you love or hate him, it was a great shot. I've met Don in person on a few occasions and he's a really good guy IMO. I think some of that stuff he did was definetely encouraged by the producers. Everyone seems to dislike Don because of his passion and enthusiasm. But would you watch a show like this where everyone just hit their shots and had no reaction? I doubt it. You would complain about it being boring. But then you have guys like Don who are really enthusiastic about the game and no one likes him either. So which is it?

Kyle is probably right. I would like to think that the producers have alot to do with his behavior. At least the behavior on this one. On BB2 he was a space cadet more than anything. Last night he was obnoxious.

Can't wait for the "behind the scenes" show tonight. I usually don't watch it, but tonight I will just to see the Euros reaction to DD.
Sad to see Eddy go. My two favorite Euros left were Eddy and Warren. Warren's dry sense of humor kills me.

I'm pretty sure it was a 5 wood. TJ used the rescue for a tee shot.
Good show last night, nice to see the US step it up a bit. That was a nice drive 2-glove hit even though it found the greenside bunker. The lost ball incident was humorous!

DD might have some game but he is one irritating SOB.
Is it just me or does it seem like the producers are making the U.S. guys seem like idiots? Right from the start they started painting a picture of the Americans as arrogant dip$hits and the Euros as calm, collected, non-confrontational...players. Maybe its just me being overly sensitive.

That was the first episode I watched of BB4 only because TGC did a good job of promo'g it wuth the comeback of Mr. Obnoxious. It was a great first half, the elimination challenge was back to same old boring BB stuff we have seen before.
I was kind of surprised that the Euros did not hit better shots to the green in the wind. It's not like they have never played in those conditions. On the other hand, why be surprised, there is a reason they are on BB4 and it has less to do with their golf skills than personality.

It's not you, it's just the unimaginative producers playing up the stereotypes that create automatic controversy and ratings. Who could resist? I am sure at the end, they will all be friends. The Euros will think these Americans are not half bad, and the Americans will think, I can get used to warm beer. Whatever......
If the match was here (and God help us BB5 is not the rematch on U.S. soil), it would be the Euros coming over here to reclaim their pedigree on golf and the Americans acting like Euros can't play on US courses.
You would think one of these days the themes would get old. The Int'l golfers made up over half the top 20 at Harding which is pretty much the same breakdown of the World Golf Rankings. So it's safe to say, if you can golf, you can play just about anywhere, no need to fan the flames of national (or in this case continental) pride.

I a funny note. I saw Edorado Gardino at the WGC at Harding Park this last weekend caddying for Angel Cabrera. We all gave him a hard time about being on the Big Break. It is funny that he was eliminated on this weeks show. It would have been great if we knew this as the WGC. He would have never heard the end of it.
Overall, he appeared to be kind of shy about the attention. He also is very short.

That's what it looked like to me.
Anyone know when the series was filmed? We know that Eddy was caddying for Cabrera last week and at the President's Cup. We've also read on these forums that "Two Gloves" has been tearing it up on the local scene in South Carolina. I wonder when the filmed the series. Obviously it was after the 2005 Masters since some of the trivia questions were asked in last week's show.

Warren looked a little shaky last night, which kind of surprised me.
DD was his usual self. Yes he can play, but yelling at the Euros for looking for his ball was lame. And when they find it, he disputes a clearly written rule. Showing emotion after sinking a big putt is fine, but the whole lost/provisional ball incident reflected very badly on DD.

The "Old American" and Two Gloves had to go head-to-head in the elimination challenge on 18 at The Old Course.
I couldn't believe Two Gloves hit that approach the first time he played 18. I think he bounced it off of a van parked in front of one of the shops there near the course. If that van had not have been there, he might have killed somebody shopping. Looked like one of my shots!
I have a question. Does the R&A keep up those bleachers/grand stands at The Old Course year 'round? If not, then we may have an answer as to when this series was filmed. Had to have been right before or right after The Open earlier this Summer.

To answer the question, no the grandstands are not maintained there year round. I went to St. Andrews a couple years back in the spring (April) and there were no grandstands at the time.
Feel bad that Two Gloves left, although I'd have felt worse if he had put his approach shot through Old Tom's shop window!!!
