BEND OF THE RIVER GC
We played the Wild Wing Avocet Course yesterday, just prior to leaving Myrtle Beach. We played 4 courses, King's North, Dye Club, TPC and Avocet. I thought that this course was the BEST of the 4 that we played! The Dye Club was the worst, we were VERY disappointed with it, definitely NOT worth the money! The Avocet was in great shape, great greens, a fair test and a really good mix of holes. Most fairways were forgiving and there was some cool risk-reward type holes. Too bad the previous owners (Japanese business) sold the place to developers for more money and the other 2 courses were destroyed for homesites. The Avocet is a MUST play if in the area. No surcharge on weekdays....the course does NOT return to the clubhouse after the 9th hole, but the cart girl was really good at coming around a lot....here are some pics...

Nice pictures. I played Kings North a couple of weeks ago, I really enjoyed it. If you think Avocet is nicer I may have to play it next time I am down there.

Actually, they are close, King's North was nice as well. TPC was pretty good overall, but the Dye Club was a HUGE disappointment.

King's North is my favorite course in MB. I'll have to play this one though too, looks nice.

I played the Kings North Two weeks ago and I loved it. It was in great shape. I birdied the 18th and parred the gambler. Went for the island fairway and was on in two and 3 putted, Oh well> It was great.

Yeah when I was there we played the front nine with the gambler a second time. I also parred it both times, I made it to the island and missed the green to the right chipped on and two putted both times. russian_roulette.gif

King's North is my favorite course of around eight or nine I have played there also. What does #18 have like 42 bunkers or something like that? I also like hole #3 where you go across the lake to the fairway or go long accross the lake to the green. I was having a bad driver day so I wen to the fairway both times.
