I was in the act of booking an advanced reservation at Rustic Canyon for 6 foursomes, my little B-day tourney. I was quoted a price of $62 per player on a Sunday which is $7 above their regular cost of $55. Does this seem right that there would be a mark up for advanced or group times?

Does not sound right. Call the Head Pro or Director of Golf/General manager. Ask them what is going on? They will tell you what the deal is. If you really want to play there, you could potentially threaten to go somewhere else and they may wave that fee or whatever it is.

I have been in the golf business for 15 years and have not heard of that, especially for such a small group.

Talked to the Tournament Director today after recieveing the contract and saw the discrepincey in rates. He said the additional cost are autorized by the owner. I canceled will seek times elsewhere for my little event.

Seems like a questionable business choice to me. Like I stated before I have been in the business for quite some time and usually people are willing to be flexible. The only way that they can justify that fee is if they are doing something extra for your group....I.E. Scorecards, cart plates, scoring, tournament set up...etc.

Otherwise all they are doing is making 6 consecutive tee times.
