I can't comment about the TPC, but at Spanish Oaks (private club outside Austin) if the group has more guests than members the club requires you to take a forecaddy along to minimize time spent looking for balls that miss the fairway and speed up play. Hard to say if he met that objective since we only missed a couple of fairways where it wasn't obvious where the ball was. He also help read the green prior to putting. Again, with only one or two exceptions his advice didn't significantly affect anyone's putt.

I have played at TPC Scottsdale with them - its ok. Its nothing like Pebble but is ok. If you get a good one they can give you yardages, etc. When I played there I honestly knew more about the course than they did which was sort of sad. They are good at finding the balls though which is helpful. Its all about the luck of the draw and who you get. I played there twice and didn't get anyone i would rate as "good" - they were both fair.

I had a very good experience with mine the last time i played there, i wish i could remember his name because he was really good.

Mine had a great knowledge of the greens and was right on with his yardages and his suggestions on where to hit the ball and where not to hit the ball, and he was a hustler, he ran the entire day.

Like stated i think it is a luck of the draw.

What tees did you guys play from and what is your HC im 9 HC and thinking of playing the TPC tees or should i play the Blues?

Is this a required service? I'm golfing there April 20th and don't really want one to tell you the truth. My index with the RCGA is -0.6 so I'm pretty sure I can read a green and pick yardages on my own.
