Pretty typical, somewhat gimmicky Pete Dye course in Myrtle Beach, more sand than you can shake your sand wedge at, conditions should have been better, good greens, surprisingly hard as well, many shots didn't hold as well as one would expect. Excellent customer serive and in cart GPS! Played tough with some wind today.

I played that course in a Hooters Tour event back in 2003 I think. I made myself a promise then:

I will never.....ever...ever,ever,ever,ever play another Pete Dye course in a tournament.

Fun course besides that.

Certainly don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I played this course two weekends ago and couldn't be more dissappointed. Of the four Barefoot courses, I found this one to be least enjoyable and the worst conditions. For $170 or whatever, I really didn't expect a course with numerous bare spots in the fairways, tees, and some greens. The fairways were not nearly as nice as a typical $30 muni... My suggestion... Play the other three -- particularly the Love and Fazio... You'll get your $$$ worth and the hamburgers at the turn are great..

The course was in premium condition when I played it, but that was a few years ago. I would agree about the other courses the Love course in particular, thats a great track.
