Well, as you know, us Canadians (well, the ones outside of BC, anyway) anxiously await the first round of the year due to our Winter woes. I was able to get out today & played 18 at Picture Butte golf course in Picture Butte, AB. It wasn't in too bad shape for just opening a little over a week ago, but my main concern was just to work out the kinks. I was able to go out solo, and I finished 18 in about 3 hours smile.gif

The front 9 was ugly. All winter I've been hitting in our simulator (or at the RCGA centre) and that definitely didn't help. I was all over the map, both off the tee and with my irons. I didn't really keep an "official" score for the round, seeing as though I was playing solo & often played 2 or 3 balls each hole. My back nine was much better, and had I actually kept score, it probably would have only been 2 or 3 over. I started to figure out my problems on the back nine, so that helped.

All-in-all, it was great to get out & officially start my 2007 Golf Season! smile.gif

Glad to hear you had a good first round of the season. My home course opens April 15th, So I can't wait to get out. The range is open and I seem to be striking the ball pretty well. I'm chunking the ball quite a bit but the range is soaked! I probably practice on the mats but I like the grass so much more.
