I am in Australia and the betting on the masters is looking very good. Tiger is favourite at $2.50, Phil is at $8, Ernie at $13, Vijay at $15, Furyk at $19 and so on. I am thinking of putting money on Vijay seeing as he is in great form and has won previously at Augusta. I also reckon Phil will do well and will put money on him to finish in the top 5 as he is at $2.40 to finish in the top five. However, i want to put money on a smokey, someone who isn't one of the top players in the world. I can either put money on Immelman ($41 for the win and $9 for a top five finish), Allenby ($34 for the win and $7 for a top five finish) or Paul Casey ($41 for the win and $8 for a top five finish). Who would you pick out of these. I will definitely put money on Phil and Vijay but am unsure about the others. I am willing to bet $50 all up.

I'd bet on this guy named Eldrick. wink.gif

Outside of the obvious dominant player I might drop a quid on a guy named Henrik, though he may have some difficulty with the augusta greens.

With his shortgame, Henrik's looking really good for Augusta--though as he's currently ranked at #5, I'd have a hard time at thinking him a longshot. But with a good showing today and a bad performance from Adam Scott, you could see Stenson climb to #4 shortly. yes.gif

Where is Chucky 3 sticks (charles howell III) in all of it? He's near the top for Fedex points and is an Augusta native....that would be story book stuff for 1st place or top 5 finish. He's playing very well this year and is certainlly long enough...

i am in ireland for a semester abroad, i too have been thinking about my picks. the two ones that were really running through my head were the previously mentioned Stenson and Howell. Distance, check. Short game, check. Putting, well kind of a check too. I was planning on dropping 5-10 euro on a real dark horse. Anyone have any ideas?

Try Tim Clark, probably has high odds and has had a few good finishes in past Masters. Simply has a dirty good short game.

I'd like to see what would happen to El Nino if he spit in the cup at the National.....

at 8 and 13 and 15 i would do those bets at 10 a pop(mick, els,vj. then maybe stenson at 5 and um chIII at 5. tahst 40 right? so you have 10 left then... goosen at 3 and hmmmm olie at 2 and garcia at 2 and immelman at 2 and a real long shot for the last dollar like a 200-1 kinda guy...sounds good to me. all these bets would be to win.
