I was told recently by a fellow Atlanta area golfer that it is unstylish to wear black golf shoes when wearing golf shorts.

Brown shoes -- okay. All white preferred. Combos (saddles, etc.) less preferred but better than brown.

Are these true statements?

Buddy I played with today had shorts with black shoes and low cut black socks. It looked fine. I've never worn it but seeing how it looked today I don't think it would matter.

It really depends on the type of shoes. Saddles won't work.

I love to wear my black Adidas Tour 360 shoes, black socks, black Ralph Lauren or J Lindeberg polo and beige bermuda shorts - I even like it a bit more if some one on the course will actually feel offended by me wearing this outfit

In fact I will try to remember to wear black shoes, black socks and shorts more often on the course if this is all it takes to offend my fellow golfers on the course

I will also remember to purchase some brush tees and irons covers to really piss the guys on the course off

ive got a pair of really long plaid black and green shorts add the black socks add the black shoes -wear them for matches ,by the time my opponent figures i can play hes three down and to top it off the girls love it

Black shoes with low black socks are the only shoe/sock combo to ever wear. ......especially if you wear size 13's. White shoes make your feet look gigantic!!!!!!

BTW...the 360 are the greatest golf shoes ever.

That's fine and you don't have to be a player to wear black golf shoes...if your friend is a noted fashion critic ignore what he says and move on. And it doesn't have to be dark shorts--khaki ones are fine too.

I only wear black shoes with shorts when i wear black socks.

It doesn't matter what other people think as long as you like the look, I wear my black shoes with shorts all the time.

i don't know about this guy, but when i am on the golf course i am there to play golf, not to model in a fashion show. i don't care how i look, just how i play.

all white shoes look best with shorts, black with pants.

i rock the black shoes/black ankle socks all the time. wear it with a black polo and nice khaki shorts. best combo

i just ordered callaway white black saddles so i guess i have to wear pants when its 95* out. haha

ElGavilan, not meaning to be rude, but why would I care what you wear if we're playing golf? I care more about having a good time than what fashion statement you're making.

ummmmm... be scared of a freind that notices and comments on your choice of shorts/shoes color choice.. unless its flamming pink....in which case he should be scared.

If you really want to be in style.....
You need at least 4 pairs.
One pair of all white
One pair of all black
One pair of brown or brown and black
A pair of any color spikeless

The footjoy classics line is the most comfortable golf shoe I have ever owned, and truthfully are more comfortable than Johnston and Murphy dress shoes.
I would suggest getting blemished, because the quality of the shoes is just the same as regular but you get at least 40%off.

Just have short/ankle socks

I will wear anything if it disrupts my competition. For that matter I would wear nothing if that works better, LOL.

BTW, I heard from another guy who said he knew someone who had on ankle socks, aka as footies, and shorts and was about to play at a club in Australia when he was asked to put on regular crew length socks.

BTW, I heard from another guy who said he knew someone who had on ankle socks, aka as footies, and shorts and was about to play at a club in Australia when he was asked to put on regular crew length socks.

I was pretty much anti-sandals until my suitcase didn't arrive in time and I had to borrow a pair of shoes and sandals were my only option. Stinks in the sand, but for a casual round they had nice stability and the feet were able to get a little sun.

Strictly a once in a while thing though.
