Not sure this is the right place or not? I am looking for courses to play in Tennessee, Gatlinburg - Pigeon Forge area. Have time for one round for sure, possibly two. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Gatlinburg Municipal ( Not one of my favorites)
Bent Creek Golf Clbu in Gatlinburg (Mickey Mouse at its best on the back side)
Eagles Landing Golf Course in Sevierville (Tough track might want to call in advance to see about course shape)
River Islands Golf Club (Fun course with some great holes)
Patriot Hills Golf Club (depending on where youare staying it might be too much drive...the best greens of the bunch)

I have played them all and I would rank them in this order:

1) River Islands/Patriot Hills (tie) I play Pat Hills as my home course so I know it well and consider myself lucky I am within 10 minutes of it. River Islands has some great holes and views.
2) Eagles Landing

aand the rest I would not even play Gatlinburg Municipal or Bent Creek....can't stand either one.

Price wise Patriot Hills will be the cheapest with Eagles and River Islands being about 15-20 dollars more. I love Patriot Hills as it is a fair test or so I think...probably the best of the three also for customer service.

Patriot Hills is a must IMO. Awesome track for the price, well worth it!

alcap,
I take it your in Dandridge? Is the Dandridge course still there? I used to play it all the time. It had three 9 hole courses on it and was really cheap. Im in Knoxville by the way, you come over here much?

River Islands is a good one. Very nice layout.

Another vote for River Islands. I think it's one of the best layouts in the area . Just wish they could keep the greens in better condition

River Islands was great. I played it years ago when I lived in Knoxville. The one thing that really stands out in my mind was that the rough was killer. It had some really neat holes though.

I actually live in Jefferson City. I play rarley in Knoxville. I play mainly Patriot Hills and Dandridge. Patriot Hills is so good I just don't see the point of driving to Knoxville and paying more but I do like to get out every so often but that will slow down this summer when we start building our house.

Dandridge Golf and Country Club is still alive and well. They rebuilt the greens on the original 18 and they are a whole lot like the ones at Patriot Hills just smaller and with more slope. They can get nasty now.

I live in Nashville and play River Islands every time we go to the Smokies. Good choice if you only have time for one round. Enjoy

Marty I hope you enjoy your round. Just make sure the greens aren't freshly punched as some of the courses are starting to do this.
