You pay a ton of money and have some kind of connection with the event's sponsors. Not sure if they are all that way, but I know the Hope is like that.

Write a big check. Or you can write a slightly smaller check and play in the Monday Pro-Am w/ the C list pros.

If you're in Texas and want to play in the Colonial Pro-am, let me know. People have held the spots for many years, but they are easy to find for the right price.

A majority of pro-am spots go to the sponsor at most tournaments I believe.

Actually, it's a $40K package since it's only sold in threes. But that's not too bad of a price for that type of event and getting to play with a top 30 player. I am surprised all the spots are not already spoken for by Coke.

another question about this:

can you choose the pro that you want in you group?

or do you have to pay much much more, above that, if you want to play with
a pga top 5 player?

I've only been to the pro-am drawing at one tournament, but it is basically a random draw. They draw 4 names at a time: a, b, c, and d players. They pick their spots, then the next names are drawn.

Pricing has nothing to do with it though some spots are pre-choosen by the sponsor.
