I am out to get a new golf umbrella and was wondering what people recommend. I carry my bag so I want something on the light side, Also do the wind resistance over lay help? I just figured I would ask around here before I got out and pick one up.

I try to carry when allowed. I have two umbrella one for the stand bag and one for the cart bag. The stand bag umbrella is a lightweight with an overlap design, I actually thinks its a Callaway that I got from Rock Bottom Golf. It's an O.K. umbrella, because of the weight it is not the most sturdy umbrella you can use. It a matter of give and take with the weight issue. The one in the cart bag is a tank, but its heavy and would not want to carry it. I hope this helps.

Go for a GustBuster, or an OEM umbrella made by GustBuster. When it is time to use it in the wind and rain, its weight isnt going to mean anything to you.

This is going to sound obvious, but just make sure it doesn't have an Metal Shaft on it, Holding Up a Lighting Rod on the Golf Course can certainly ruin a round. crazy.gif

i got the Titliest umbrella that has the wind-go-thru things, i dont know what theyre called. But anyways i always walk, so if the forecast is calling for rain, i strap it on and go. It adds a few pounds but definately worth it when the rain starts comming down. Its huge, never seen a bigger one, the wind doesnt tear it up...overall 10/10. Get it.
