I have a new red/white vantage. Anyone have any suggestions as how to best protect it from the elements? I've heard Scotchgard Fabric Protector is good but may be silicone based, which is not good? Please help, as I play about 1/3 of my season in unruly conditions. Thx in advance.

golf is an outdoor sport, and its played in the elements whether it be the sun, rain, or snow. I dont think there is a real way to completely protect a bag. The only way i can think to protect it would be to cover it with some kind of plastic bag but then you couldnt get to pockets or see the bag itself.

I've used Scotch-Guard on almost all of mine and never had a problem. Trying to find the Aerosal Water-Proofer I use on some of my stuff, but I can't find the bottle right now.

I've got the same bag and used it towards the end of January.
I live in Toronto, and it isn't pretty in January.
There was a bit of mud on the bag where the ends of the stand meets. I just washed the mud off with water and it worked pretty well.
