Dont waste your money on those grips...They pay Phil a ton of money to play those. I regripped my whole set for about $20.00 when Royal had there old site up. They are very,VERY firm hard rubber...not what you would assume they would feel like. I have had the GP tourwraps before which were plush or squishy if you may..and they are 100 times better. Royals Sandwraps are closer to the cheap Walmart regripping kit. If you are still interested, regrip your 7 iron only and see if is for you.

I think the firm rubber ones are the sand wrap V, not the regular sand wraps. The sand wrap v are a bit firmer but last forever and much thinner than the regular sand wraps.

I personally love the sandwrap grips. Only grips I play. I dont find them to firm at all but some batches are a little different them other I have found over the years. They are becoming a little difficult to find. This is the only place I have been able to find them consistantly. Im fixing to order me a 100 or so. Hope this helps.

They dont pay Phil anything. He has used them for years and actually turned town golf pride money to keep using them.

Way back when he and Nicklaus were both using Griptec grips, I don't think they are around any longer but they were great grips, super tacky and durable. Anyone know what happened to Griptec?

I do remember hearing a few years back that he had a contract with RP to play the PX shafts and RP grips. Now that True Temper bought RP I dont know if it still the case. I wanted to like the RP sandwraps butcould not deal with how firm they are. I was very dissapointed with the quality of RP grips.

I wouldn't just go and buy a grip cuz phil plays it. I personally love the tour velvet or crossline, but i recently picked up a set of titleist forged t irons with lampkin dual density grips and am very impressed. For grips to each his own.

Griptec went under about 6-7 years ago. I used the same grip as you and interestingly have an old graphite shaft that I use as a map pointer in my classroom. It still has the Griptec grip on it.
