I don't see why Gore would decide to play the Boise Open. My thoughts are that he would be taking away from the players who need the money to get on the PGA Tour which Gore is now exempt. As I understand it the Nationwide tour is a developmental tour for the PGA Tour and I don't see why someone would want to go back to the minors when they are now an allstar in the majors??? Does anybody have any insight on this?

Prior Commitment ? Probably honouring one. Maybe a chance to say 'au revoir'?

Pros are free agents, they can tee it up wherever they are elligable. I guess there's nothing wtitten down to say that you 'cannot go back',
having qualified for the PGA tour......

Said he made a commitment to the sponsors over a month ago, and felt he should fulfill it. Too me that's quite admirable, I don't think many others in his position would do the same.

Very respectable, he seems to be a class guy. No surprise that he would honor a commitment he made.

Besides, looks like a good move, I doubt they will be playing in the Lone Star State this weekend.

Thanks for your responses. It makes sense now. I like Jason Gore he is a heck of a player and his finish Sunday was awesome! I think he is going to be a superstar and as pointed out in your responses it seems like he is a great guy and probably won't develop and major ego diablo.gif Well, I hope he wins the darn thing then! clapping.gif

In his press conference right after he won 84 Lumber, Jason mentioned that he was planning on playing in Boise Open as a way of repaying his debt to them. It was the 1st sponsor exemption that Jason Gore obtained when he was starting out for his professional career. Very classy move on Jason's part to reward them for giving him his 1st start.

I think Vijay does the same for a certain tournament but the name of the tournament escapes my mind at this moment.

Jason also mentioned in the 84 Lumber press conference that his spot at the 84 Lumber was due to an exemption and for that he was very grateful and combined with his win he plans to play this event forever.
This guy is class act and I hope he's on the PGA TOUR for good now and has a long succesful career.

i say good for him. more people will turn out to watch him play which helps the tournament sponsors.

Gore is actually not allowed to come back and play in the nationwide events. by him winning in the PGA toru he moves up to a new ranking and is no longer allowed to play a lower event. He asked for a special exemption and the PGA tour granted him his wish to fullfill his prior commitmkent to the boise nationwide event.

I feel that it was a class act, the guys that have made plans and bought tickets to see gore would be at a loss when he doesnt show up for the event. he even made it to his event monday in boise to play with troy and the LPGA players.

Jason is as good as a guy gets, I have had the pleasure to play with him and speak with him on a number of occasions, a very nice classy guy!!
