I was at the golf store yesterday and I was looking at all the new hats. The contrast stitching and trucker hats are really big right and most every company has some variation of them, except Nike. Nike is a flashley stylish company, I can't believe they don't have either.
Is it just me or do some of you think they should hop on the band wagon?
Ideas:
Black hat with yellow stitching SUMO on one side and ONE on the other
White hat with black stitching
Yellow hat with black stitching
Black hat with white stitching
Just some ideas. I'm not a Nike Guy, but I would just like them to be a little more caught up with the times.
I will say they have the most comfortable shoes for the price.

I know nike has put together some awesome golf equipment and obviously gone out and created an amazing golf division and gathered a strong stable of Tour players, but to me Nike is still a shoe company.
Is it just me or do others feel the same? I know their equipment is super advanced but its a thing I can't get out of my head. Almost bought the OSS's but couldn't do it.....

I used to think the same thing, until I hit last years SQ and bought an SQ fairway wood. Both are suprized the heck outta me.
For a shoe company with lines to outfit Kobe etal...I would just think they would have done something like this to kind of liven up their product line.
This company has very big names and you can't tell me that Lucas Glover, Jason Gore, David Duval etal like to wear those boring One Size fits all elastic hats.
Be creative Nike that's all.

One possible rationale for Nike's choice:
Consistent with its marketing in other sports, Nike golf wants to be seen as putting out "athletic performance gear", and they don't view trucker hats consistent with that type of look.
While they do make a fashion statement, trucker hats tend more to a high front (forehead area). That and the open plastic mesh tend to clash with the sleek, streamlined look of the rest of the Nike line, both within golf and beyond. Probably wouldn't look right atop someone wearing dri-fit the rest of the way down.
Then again, nothing about Jason Gore is particularly streamlined, either, but he still plays good golf and Nike puts him out there, so my theory may be bunk.
As for contrast stitching, some Nike golf visors put out in the last year (dri-fit, not the typical cloth), such as those worn by Trevor Immelman on occasion, feature some contrast, but it's very understated (e.g. silver/gray on top of black) and does not particularly stand out from a few feet away.

i think nike as a company prefers to set trends and not follow trends.
nike gets more respect from me for not having a trucker hat. i think they are cheap looking. they are only popular because a few clowns in hollywood started wearing them and now everyone wants to be like them. i prefer to keep it simple and wear a nike unstructured golf shield hat.

Who cares, it's just an observation. I'd like NIKE to put some of this stuff out. I think they could have some of the best hats out there if they'd just swallow their pride. But if the boring elastic TW hats float your boat then you're entitled to that opinion.

dri-fit hats are sweet!
