Seeing Tadd this week makes me wonder what exactly a player can receive from say Callaway ( or any other company) and still be amateur. Tadd looks more "professional" in terms of bag clothes etc than Paul Goydos!

Is there a dollar amount or is it just no money?

I thought they weren't allowed to advertise a company being an amateur..and if you look at his bag..I'd say that's great advertising. This whole amateur/professional status thing is wayyy to complicated.

you are allowed to get a bag with the company name on it, but your name has to be in bold letters also. I know at many AJGA events you get bags from ping also. Basically you can receive alot of equipment, bags, clothes, as long as you do not accept any money, appear in ads, etc. THe basic fine line between a pro and top am, is the money.

I understood the money part..it was just the whole equipment thing I wasn't understanding.

See... we weren't allowed to receive any golf bags or any other equipment when i played junior golf. I wonder why....
