Hey i was reading in one of my old Todays Golfers And Noticed A small Section.
Titled ''Monster 878-Yard Hole Stuns Pros'
The 878-yard 4th at the St Andrews 2000 Golf Club In Rayong Thailand,is the sort of hole that makes purists wince. Its the First Ever Par-6 ever used in a pro Tournament.
What Do You Think About This?
One of asias longest hitters Wisut Artjanawat his Driver 3wood 3wood to this hole!!

I can only imagine how bad I would do on that, I'm feeling a 9 or 10 haha. I'm happy we don't have any par 6 here, its just to long.

I hope it plays downhill. Thats ridiculously long!!!

I dont see the problem with it.
900 yards hit a 320 drive, 280 3 wood to get 300 yards away and have a chance for the green in under regulation.
I'm sure you can cut something like water or a hazard or something to make it play shorter...if not...its a 4 shot hole...4 shots to the green in regulation...
Drive over 250
2nd shot 225
3rd shot 225
4th shot 200
gets you home in regulation.

Yes but when you look at the hole layout you will find it isnt that easy haha:) its completely covered in water and the green is an island similar to the 17th at sawgrass but alot larger.

The Paragraph Further Reads...
''The Hole Which Includes 3 Carries Over Water,is 'Only'855 Yards For Club Players,But Was Extended To 878 Yards For The Pro's''
Every Pros statement taken said it was such a mental challenge and was very difficult.

That looks like a hole that you'd find on one of the made up courses on Tiger Woods Golf.
It's too bad the Accenture Match Play is at The Gallery South Course... The North Course has a 725 yd par 5. It's a long hole... Plus sometimes into the wind. The "regulation" 3rd shot was always tough.

No Problem, I can get there in 4, but can I use a tee on the fairway?

IF you could carry your tee shot out farther than where the arrow on the site shows then it wouldn't be so bad

That is one sick hole. I would like to play it just once, but I would use the new Mojo ball or the HX Hot and just swing all out a few times lol.

I could drive it in 1 and go for triple eagle

I played there twice just recently: my first and last time.
The whole course is ridiculous, not only this par 6 (they have another par 6 on the back 9).
On this par 6, you have to carry your tee shot over water between 230 and 260 yards, depending on the angle you choose. If you aim left (shorter carry) but hit a good shot, it will run though the fairway into O.B. If it stays on the FW, you have to layup your second about 150 or carry it another 230 over water. If you aim right (260 carry with Tee shot), you can carry the next water (app. 200 yards) with your second.
The landing area of your third shot (a full 5 or 3 wood!) has water to the left and a hill to the right. The flat area is max 25 yards wide. The fourth shot is an "easy mid iron"....
I played solid golf, hit very good shots and my putting was good, too. I still ended up shootong 103 or 104.... the highest score since maybe 5 years (normally I shoot mid seventies to low eighties)
Many of the other holes are just as unfair...
The funny thing is, this club has two courses: green valley and St. Andrews 2000. On Green Valley you need to book your Tee time at least one week in advance....but on St.Andrews you can just walk in and Tee off at almost any time....
This aera in Thailand has probably 20 to 30 great courses, and St.Andrews won´t see me again anytime soon...

By far the worst hole ever made. An 8million yard hole that you can drive the ball too far off the tee. Utter Rubbish

Driver - water, driver - water, driver - water, etc.... Go home, no more golf balls!

lmao ken, we have a course here in North Carolina tha the first hole is a 755 yard par 5 from the tips and 590 for ladies tees, and it goes up hill. Not bad for a starting hole, right?

the last time I played they moved the tee to the othr side of the water,we reached in 3 comfortably.\\as you know its not down hill but flat.Ive broken 40 on both sides but never together!
When i played Stableford I hit one shot into the water and then headed for the drink stop at the next tee.took my playing partners around 35 minutes to catch up!@

The St. Andrews course was one of the courses used this year in the Thailand SPE Charity tournament. Needless to say it's a bit discouraging for the average intoxicated oilfield trash participant. I absolutely hate that course. Luckily enough there are enough great courses in the same vicinity I don't have to play that monster ever again.

I would hate that hole.
I did play a 663 yard par 5 on my honeymoon in Nevis. It had a 240 yard carry over a canyon of rainforest from the tee. The first time I played it, I hit driver-7 iron and was over the green. Just a BIT downhill. It was just a typical RTJII design, quirky but fun.

"Meaodws Farm Golf
Locust Grove, VA
Home of the Longest Hole
in the United States
No.12 - 841 Yards - Par 6
According to the Guinness Book of World Records"
It plays alot easier than you would think.
