WRXers,
I'm traveling to Tampa next weekend to play both courses at World Woods. We play Pine Barrens first.
I'd love to hear from those of you who have been fortunate enough to play Pine Barrens. What should I expect? Any particular advise? I've played a number of other Top 100 courses...and am looking forward to what I understand is a truly unique experience.

I have not played it, but my brother did about 6 or 7 years ago about 2 weeks before Michelson and David Toms tee'd it up for the Shell. He always talks about how incredibly beautiful it was. Every hole is awesome. I'd say get a good sleep and be ready for a day you'll never forget. Oh, and yeah, bring your A game

Keep it in play - you DO NOT want in any of those waste areas. Trust your yardage book and play what you can see.
Otherwise, show up early to take advantage of one of the best practice facilities in the world and enjoy!!

I've heard the same, especially the part about every hole being spectacular. We're planning to spend the entire day on site (two, in fact, since we're playing Rolling Oaks as well).
The A Game will show up if it decides to. If I had control over that, I'd be playing in Hawaii instead!
Thanks for the feedback.

Played PB 2 weeks ago, try and play RO first and then finish on PB.
PB is a very superior layout. They are both wide open Bombers layouts, very hard to lose your ball because there is not a lot of aqua...enjoy

Both courses are awesome. You will have a great time.
Be careful on hole 12(I think) on Pine Barens. The green can be brutal depending on the pen placement.
One of my buddies, who is scratch, 4 putted after being 15 from the hole just off the fringe.
He thinned his chip shot and the ball hit the slope and ran off the green some 50 feet from the hole. Impossible putt up the hill, his first attempt almost made it, but then came back at him and past where he was standing.
It was actually pretty amazing, we had a good laugh after he cooled down a little.

Yep, that's about everything you need to know.
I also enjoyed Rolling Woods quite a bit. It is an interesting and attractive test as well.

Back from World Woods, and had to post.
If any of you get the opportunity to play Pine Barrens or Rolling Oaks, take it. Pine Barrens is a top 100 course for a reason, and I guarantee you won't see a golf course quite like it anywhere else. It's got an incredible mix of holes. They're incredibly visually stunning, and most would be the signature hole for any other course.
There was quite a bit of action the day we played. Two different guys in my group took a 100 to 1 bet that I wouldn't shoot even par or better (I'd never seen the course, and haven't played yet this year). I won't say how much we wagered, but it will suffice to say that my trip to Florida would have been paid for if I hadn't doubled 15 to shoot 2 over. Close, but no cigar.
All in all, I'll say that Pine Barrens is a must play, and that Rolling Oaks isn't far behind.

I'm really pumped now. Just booked a TT.
I was thinking of going the day before to practice instead of playing somewhere else.

I'm not exaggerating when I say you could literally spend an entire day at the World Woods practice area.
It has to be seen to be believed....only Kinloch's rivals it.
