How well do your golf shoes fit? None of mine fit that well, and I wanted to know if I was alone. I walk and if the course is hilly, my foot seems to slide around in the front part of the shoe. I have a high arch, so lacing them tighter will not work.
Thanks,
Andy
I have weird shaped feet (narrow heel relative to wide forefoot), so I'm used to trying on every single shoe available before buying. And because I participate in a lot of sports that require precisely fitting fottwear (snowboarding, skiing, hiking, etc), I've learned a little about shoes. Not sure how much information you are looking for, so apologies in advance if this info is too remedial.
The key to find the right fitting shoe is the "last". The last is the mold around which the shoe is shaped. Last characteristics vary based on goals of the shoe’s fit and appearance. Some manufacturers use only 1 last for their entire line of shoes, while others use many different lasts (FootJoy, for example has numerous lasts [
see below]). Therefore, it is possible that different models of shoes from the same OEM will fit completely differently.
It sounds like you are wearing a shoe that is either too long for you, or the forefoot is too wide.
For example, FootJoy's various lasts:
