How well do your golf shoes fit? None of mine fit that well, and I wanted to know if I was alone. I walk and if the course is hilly, my foot seems to slide around in the front part of the shoe. I have a high arch, so lacing them tighter will not work.

Thanks,

Andy

My golf shoes fit fine, there just getting a little small because my feet are growing. I need to move up like half a size. If your feet are sliding around in your shoes you might want to bye a smaller shoe or try a different company.

I have weird shaped feet (narrow heel relative to wide forefoot), so I'm used to trying on every single shoe available before buying. And because I participate in a lot of sports that require precisely fitting fottwear (snowboarding, skiing, hiking, etc), I've learned a little about shoes. Not sure how much information you are looking for, so apologies in advance if this info is too remedial.

The key to find the right fitting shoe is the "last". The last is the mold around which the shoe is shaped. Last characteristics vary based on goals of the shoe’s fit and appearance. Some manufacturers use only 1 last for their entire line of shoes, while others use many different lasts (FootJoy, for example has numerous lasts [see below]). Therefore, it is possible that different models of shoes from the same OEM will fit completely differently.

It sounds like you are wearing a shoe that is either too long for you, or the forefoot is too wide.

For example, FootJoy's various lasts:

Thanks, I see that the Rex Last is what I am looking for, and I also see that they do not make a golf shoe using that last bb.gif

I have sent them an email to ask about that. It was about 5 years (or more) ago that they came out with the laser fitting system. They said that their intent was to have many of them around the country and it appears that they did not follow through with that.

So, which companies fit your golf shoes? Maybe it is time for an orthotic insole?

I have a pretty similar foot structure too yours. I wear dryjoy PRO's and I am very pleased with them. They have lasted over a year as my only golf shoes which is pretty good for me.

I did contact several manufacturers to ask about an appropriate shoe for me. The only reasonable option was from Adidas and then put me on to the A3 3 Stripe and Tour Metal. I went to a local golf show shortly after that and snagged a pair of the A3 3 Stripes for $49.99 from Rock Bottom golf. They were right, they fit very well. I then got a pair of the Tour 360's as they were closing them out.

I still think that the shoe manufacturers are missing the boat on custom fitting of golf shoes. Not making them for each person, but pointing them in the right direction and being able to provide cusom insoles at a decent price to make the shoes fit prefectly. IMO the shoes are the most important piece of equipment you own, especially if you walk cool.gif

If your feet hurt, you can't concentrate on anything else (people who don't have shoe issues don't understand.)

And somebody should start making synthetic socks with individual toes to avoid blistering.

Andy,

Maybe you should switch out those "tour - x flex spikes." Nice equipment signature... cheesy.gif

I float around in Eccos -- and put an aftermarket insole in one of my pairs - tightened things up nicely.

The last shoe I purchased was a deal on the Footjoy Reel-Fit -- talked the guy into a price that was the same as Nike TW and Adidas 360.

Great Shoes for my troubled feet as the BOA lacing system does the job to make a comfy fit -- I'm sure part of it is the last they use on that shoe -- but you might give it a shot at the store.

I'm already looking for a spring pair for another color.
