Tanglewood, Pine Needles, and Pinehurst #2 for me. Played Tanglewood a few times during setup for the Vantage, so the grandstands/scoreboards were in place. That was pretty cool!
And, I've walked the hallowed grounds of Augusta...just made me want to play it even more!!

The Old Course at St Andrews and Royal County Down.....
I am jealous.
I have played or worked at some wonderful facilities Garden City, Inwood, Rockaway Hunting Club, Olympic Club (played both many times), San Francisco Club, Pasatiempo, Valley Club of Montecito, Bethpage Black, Winged Foot. I would dearly love to play Royal County Down.......it is a must play for me. I remember the Shell's Wonderful World of Golf with Christy O'Conner vs Don January....I wanted to play it ever since.

I've had the priviledge of playing Oakland Hills (South Course), Victoria National, and Harbour Town. Victoria National is probably the least famous of the three, but it is a great track in southern Indiana ranked #21 in the United States by Golf Digest (and was ranked America's Best New Private Course of 1999).

I have been privelaged to play these, and a lot more that don't come to mind at the moment, mostly through business. I've been to the Super Bowl, the World Series, the NCAA basketball tourney, the NIT, countless hockey, soccer, basketball and football games. I've been to the PGA Championship, the Ryder Cup and the US Open on several occasions. I've been to the Master's four times. It's been a great ride so far!

I've played both The Country Club in Brookline, Mass , Salem CC, Pebble Beach and Bethpage Black. They are probably prestigious, but I've had better times on less "prestigious" tracks like Kapalua and True Blue Plantation.

I just got back from a weekend of playing golf in Orlando. Played the Highlands Reserve golf course in Davenport, FL. which is no big deal. But I went to dinner Saturday night and met a member of the Lake Nona Country Club. This is the home course for Annika Sorrenstan and Justin Rose amongst others. Well this guy was nice enough to grant me guest priveledges to play the course. It's flat out one the most beautiful courses I've even been on and tough too.

Champions GC
I'd be interested to hear what you thought about it.
I really enjoyed it. If I could join any club in Houston, Champions would be it. My college roommate's parents live there. The two things I remember most are the size of the greens and the sense of history. The greens are bigger than anything I've ever seen. One time I was playing and a member showed me where Hogan decided to pick up and end his playing career. The same member also treated me to a nice, cold Grolsch beer (I was a poor college kid who thought the world ended at Bud Light) and we sat for a couple of hours with him telling stories about the various famous members they've had. Most of the stories centered around Jimmy Demaret. It was also neat to meet Mr. Burke and see Hogan's locker. It's still the same as the last day he played.
