Im going down to vallarta for the 5th time, and although I have golfed before I want to hear if anyone has any comments about some of the courses down there. I have played Vista Vallarta Nickaus, and Flmaingos numerous times. I am interested in heading to Punta De Mita and playing 4 seasons but im not sure if I would be able to get on their? Do you have to be staying at the resort? anyone have any suggestions on where else to play, I plan on playing 9 or 10 times. Please let me know what you think of the courses and where you would want to play.

I'm headed down there next week. We are members at the Nuevo Vallarta Mayan Palace resort, so we can play all day at their resort course for $50 (plus caddy fee). It's a great course (about 6900+ yds par 71). If you check www.ezlinks.com you can usually get discounted tee times for the course (about half off so about $75 instead of $150). They also have a nice practice range and short game facility (atleast they did the last time I was there) that had range balls for $2 US a bucket. I also played the Marina Vallarta Golf Course. It's back in towards Puerto Vallarta. It winds through a residential part of the city and has some of the most amazing landscaping ever. One of the par threes sits right on the ocean. There are also in-course swamp lands and we had a near run in with a alligator/ crocodile (can't remember which ones live in Mexico). Anyways, that was a great little course. I'm pretty sure the 4 Seasons Punta Mita Nicklaus course isn't for resprt guests only, but I beleive that they get discounted green fees. It's $185 to play 18. Have fun on your trip.
