Hello, my name is TourPro.......and I am a golf addict.

I know I am not alone. How much time do you guys spend playing, hitting balls, putting on the living room carpet, watching the golf channel in secret so your spouse doesn't find out, or typing away here at GolfWRX???? Just curious. I do it for a living so I have a little more time to play, but I am curious how much time you guys spend on playing, watching, talking, breathing golf.

I may need professional help. crazy2.gif

HI TOURPRO!!!
Hi my name is Rich and I am a golf addict crazy2.gif crazy.gif crazy2.gif . I am on golfwrx off and on(off for 5 minutes and on for 2 hours, and repeat) at home from when I get home to when I go to bed, now I am even on Golfwrx at school. I have my putter in the hallway and when the post get slow I roll some putts down the hallway into a little plastic cup, and I even chip once in a while. I will even chip outside in the snow, I know I am pathetic. I play when ever I can and I watch the golf channel al the time

Hi Rich,
Welcome to the group. I too like to play in the snow. I realized the depth of my disease playing in 30* weather with 30 mph winds on a frozen green yesterday. Once I thawed out, I wondered if I was the only one. Nice to know I am not alone. drinks.gif

I remember last winter I hit balls in January, 30 degrees with forged wilson blades(1970's) I had surgery on my left hand(my middle finger and my ring finger were together at birth, they operated) so every misshit shocked me and gripping the 10 year old Victory green grips made my hand bleed. my parents said to wait till spring but I didn't, why I love golf, and now my iron play is pretty strong.

Tourpro, I would use those pink flying ladies(no joke) in the snow they show up the best. this year I have already lost a noodle and a nike TA(shag bag balls); playing for 5 minutes!!!

I live in the Philadelphia area and golf is a 12 month sport for me. I played today with the temps in the 30s and the wind chill around 15. My wife wants to have me committed to rehab, but I keep telling her that I am a functioning golfaholic.
TourPro
I like that term.....Functioning Golfaholic.

well, after reading this post, im glad im not the only one. It's about 15 here in Chicago and I was hitting at my range outdoors today. granted, we have somewhat heated stations, it's till a cool feeling hitting into a field with over 6" of snow. When i say "cool" feeling, that's no pun intended.

i feel if you do not neglect the golf gods in the winter, they will only treat you better in the spring and summer.

cheesy.gif I keep telling myself while I'm hacking it up in 80* weather...."It's not that bad..think of the GolfWRX'ers freezing!

TourPro..you're not alone. I've either got my bag in the car or a couple of clubs or my momentus in there to use when the feeling strikes me. If I'm not on the course...you can probably find me here at GolfWRX. drinks.gif
FlyFish

At least golf is a healthy hobby. I tell my wife that it's better than being a bar fly (like so many others we know) and she leaves me alone. smile.gif

I, I , um, I , um, I am, am a Golfaholic. This is my first admission, and first meeting of the GOLFWRX Golfaholics thread. Yes I played 90 holes since monday morning, all while "working" on the road.
yes, my wife thinks i playes once, although i'm sure she is convinced i stopped off at the range while i was travelling (i did that too).
I LOVE this dam game, I LOVE this website. Can't wait to bump into some fellow WRX'rs on the course now that i'm sporting my WRX white putter cover. Look for me in Nor cal, an any course in my path.
Maybe I'll try that bar fly thing on my wife.... LOL.

Hi, my name is Ray, I'm a full fledged Golfaholic.

My Dealer (Father-In-Law) Gave me my first round for free and I was hooked (Golf is like crack).

I don't belong to a club, but in the summer I will play 2-3 times a week, take 1 lesson a week, and hit the driving range the other 3-4 days, so it's basically an everyday addiction. crazy2.gif

I'm not just addicated to Playing Golf, but I'm also addicated to clubs, boy do I like new clubs, Demo'ing/buying, etc. I think it's more that I'm also trying to find something that's just a little bit better than what I currently have, like a Driver that might help adding a few more yards off the tee, or Irons that help getting another GIR on the card, or a putter that will help with taking a few putts off the card.

In the winter I go thru a bit of withdrawl. Some of the courses up by me will close, but as long as someone's open, I will try to squeek a round in here and there. If not, I just end up just putting and chipping in my office into a putting cup, going to support groups and GolfWRX, and plan a trip or two for Jan/Feb when I'm really jonesing for a round or two.

Also, I'm not just and addict, but I'm also a Dealer too, as I gave my wife her first round for free, and now whe's hooked too...

Thanks,
shoe295
Ha...people used to say I had a drinking problem...I would inform them that there was never any problem as I never ran out....now those same fools say I have a golf problem...again I fail to understand....I do something golf related everyday...no problem

Hello,

my name is Claus and I'm a golf addict drinks.gif

I watch golf for 2-3 hours a day, write in golf forums every day on and off, play in cold winter weather and in golf simulators during the winter season.

I dream about soft forged Japan made golf clubs instead of dreaming about soft curved beautiful women crazy2.gif fool.gif

My worst nightmare is a scene where a thieaf steals all my precious soft forged clubs and break my arms so I won't be able to play the game ever again vava.gif cray.gif

My girlfriend says I'm nuts - and she's right - but she's also a golf addict like me (I met her on a golf course) bye.gif man_in_love.gif

I HAVE to be a golf-a-holic!! Played yesterday, mishit a 3 wood on a long par 5, the ball went into the pond. LUCKILY it had some snow under it, and I was able to get a club on it. Walked out on the FROZEN POND, hit a pitching wedge about 80 yards to the fringe, then sank a 25 footer for birdie off the ice. Frosted the nuggies of the rest of my 15 MAN playing group. Iowa golf rocks.
Tyler Durden
My name is Tyler and I'm also a functioning golfaholic. I'm currently a 3rd year law student, so with a staggered class schedule, I've found a lot of time to work on my game. The only problem for me has been the summers. Every summer I clerk for a law firm which, unfortunately, is a FULL TIME JOB shok.gif. I mean, we're talking 10-12 hour days, easy. So by the time a would get home from work (I stay with my folks during the summer because they only live about 1 hr. from my job) it would already be dark out. Fortunately, my parents live on a golf course on Hilton Head Island, and, very often, during those South Carolina summer nights, the moon would be out and provide just enough light to see a golf ball. So I would grab my clubs, go to the range, sift through the woods in search of range balls, and hit to my hearts content under that summer moonlight. Sometimes until 11 o'clock at night, knowing full well that I would have to get up at 5 a.m. the next morning. I know I have a problem, my folks thought I was nutz, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my addicition!!! man_in_love.gif wub.gif heart.gif

hello, my name is Andrew,I am 14 and I am also a functioning golfaholic. I am on here most of my day, and when I am not I am watching TGC or am at school. When I am supposed to be listening to lectures, I am reading a current issue of Golf Digest or Golf Magazine or Golf Illustrated. When I am supposed to be taking notes I am writing down shaft and head combinations and making overall price estimations. My teachers gave up on me ages ago lol, even though I am a straight A student. My parents think I have insomnia but they dont know that I am polishing and shining my clubs and posting on here.

Hi, my name is Ben and I have a problem. I like golf. I play golf 7 days a week. I am at the course 6 days, and the seventh is spent at home putting around the house and hitting balls into the net on the side of my house. I am known to be at the golf course from after school till closing. On the weekends I can spend over 12 hours (each day) at the course. Now when I'm not playing, I am still around golf. I am on golfwrx.com for about 2 hours each day after playing, and have been known to get online during brunch, lunch, and during web design. When not doing any of the above, I am watching The Golf Channel or reading 6 years+ of Golf Digest, Golf World, Golf Tips, and misc. golf magazines and equiptment broschures. Where can I sign up for help?

I think it's safe to say the game has me by the you-know-whats and has had me that way for many years. I have to have at least some golf in every day of my life. Could be playing, could be hitting balls, could be chipping in my backyard, could be reading a golf book / magazine, could be visiting the local pro shops, could be browsing ebay, golfwrx, tourspecgolf, etc, to buy, sell, or trade clubs. Anything, including just fantasizing about my set makeup for the coming year. Winters are getting more and more unbearable. The time from Thanksgiving to Easter seems to drone on forever, while summer seems to literally fly by. When the Grim Reaper finally catches up with me, no way they're sticking me in a box in the ground. tongue.gif Made the wife promise to cremate me and scatter my ashes over Bethpage Black.

Have to go now, gotta pop another Zoloft.

Hi im chris, and im a golfaholic, haha

I am a collegiate golfer with aspirations on turning professional after I graduate this may. I spend at least 4 to 6 hours a day doing something golf related. Sometimes more. When the weather is good, I am doing it for 5 to 8 hours. I play golf. i eat golf. I look up golf on the net. I read golf. I sleep golf. But I also have to put in time for the ladies, haha, and some other time consuming events. Basically when it is light outside I am golf. When the sun goes down, maybe a little more, but not as much. I am a golfaholic. (remember admitting it is the first step wink.gif )
