Played the Blue course, the us open one that ernie els won on, though there is some understanding they take both courses there and use some holes from each to create the tournament, the guy told me. We played 17 holes on the blue then 1 hole on the gold, as the original #18 was gone as they re work things for the us open in 20??. We played from the whites, that was 6200 yards or so. plenty far and plenty windy today.

This last pic is of some hole, like an idiot i can't remember which hole. 5? i can't remember... Obviously this was a really nice, much appreciated golf outing and any thursday golfing is better than a thursday working....

well worth going if you ever get an invite, the clubhouse has a ton of historical things, including the charter for membership listing 4 us presidents, harding, coolidge, taft and wilson, plus your usual rockefellers, chryslers, an olds and a few other memorable folks.

what a beautiful course, I have forgotten while going to school in Miami what fall looks like. How beautiful

Mrnoncontactsots !!! leaves = SATAN! Yes it was pretty, and they blew off most leaves everywhere. but, if we didn't have a caddie way up in front for all our slice/hook drives, the leaves would have won.

I forgot to mention, the new finish hole if i got that right, is a long par 4 dogleg downhill. From the blues (the farthest back tees there, it goes blue/gold/white/reds) It is so way back, narrow and long you realize how much better a pro is than the rest of us, because... 1. back tee's. 2. pro courses are redone with narrower fairways AND higher rough than what congressional has right now, "pre-tournament", as they will narrow the fairways and not cut the rough so much. That will make it amazingly much harder for me from the whites vs. now... Was nice to see the trophies and historical stuff there that lined the hallways, lockerroom area, etc...

"Congo" is an absolute bear from all the way back. The 2nd hole is a uphill 235 yard par 3. Welcome to Congressional, prepare to get you butt kicked. Awesome experience. My favorite memory of that course was getting up and down for par on 17 from 210 out.
