I had the pleasure of playing the Stonehaven Course at Glade Springs Resort in West Virginia recently. They have a new hotel there to go with the great accommodations they already had.

The Cobb course (their original) has always been fun to play but Stonehaven really takes advantage of the heaving terrain.

My favorite hole was the 16th, a 601 yard beauty that you approach from well above, before descending down to the tee. The view is superb, especially in the fall with the leaves full of color.

So tell me, what did you get on that hole Scott?

Looks like a very nice course. Might have to play that next summer when I take a mini-golf trip to WV to play Twisted Gun GC.

We played a 3 person scramble that day for kicks - we played from the 568 tees, I careered it and hit driver/3 wood to 12 feet - my buddy tried the putt first and made it for the 3!! Helped us to -7 on back after a not so hot -4 on front.

Of course we were at elevation (2500 feet or so) and the tee shot actually plays a bit downhill so that certainly helped the drive. I would say the hole played only about 520 yards with the downhill/elevation factors built in.

Really solid course - hard to find a bad hole. Some great short holes as well.
